Dear Samuel,

We're back!

After a summer that saw the hottest temperatures ever recorded in Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, and then the absolutely hartbreaking pictures of the Amazon burning, the new school (and political) year has begun with more attention than ever on human impact on the natural world - and more demands that something be done.

Luckily, we have some answers with stories about the Amazon fires, the EU's own forestry policy and the growing movement to enjoy slower travel and 'stay grounded'.

As always, stay in touch let us know what you think via Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks for reading,

Anton Lazarus
