Following the Academy of Ancient Music's return to performances in front of a live audience at this year's Stour Music festival, Stour Music is delighted to announce the launch of their mini-festival of online performances, available to view on-demand until 27 September and featuring AAM's concert with guest director Robert Hollingworth.
Founded by the counter-tenor Alfred Deller in 1962, the annual early music festival of Stour Music takes place at the end of June each year in the beautiful pilgrim church of All Saints' Boughton Aluph, situated in the heart of the Kent countryside and renowned for its superb acoustic. In light of current circumstances and the restrictions on audience numbers allowed to attend this year, the online mini-festival allows you to take in the full programme of concerts from the comfort of your home.
The festival includes appearances by Illyria Consort with Marian Consort in their programme titled 'An Adriatic Voyage', cellist Jonathan Manson' exploration of the second and third suites for the instrument by JS Bach, and AAM's concert of Purcell with soloists Anna Dennis, Hugo Hymas and Frederick Long, conducted by festival Artistic Director Robert Hollingworth.
Season tickets for all three concerts can be purchased for ?30 per household, ?10 for under 30s and ?1 for students. Booking details and the concert programme can be found on the Stour Music website: www.stourmusic.org.uk/concerts-2020/music-for-a-while
