A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTORS

Greetings from Algonquin Park,
Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this complex and difficult situation regarding COVID-19. Unfortunately, we''re still waiting for our re-opening plan to be approved, and as a result, we must remain closed until further notice. We realize how disappointing and frustrating this is, and we share in that frustration, as our artists have gone above and beyond for an incredible 2020 exhibit.
For now, all we can do is reassure you that we'll continue to do everything in our power to expedite the process, so please stay tuned for more updates as the situation develops. This is obviously a challenging time for us, our staff, and our artists, but we will continue to share new works from our 2020 exhibit via E-newsletters, our website, and social media.
We've included a preview of some of these new works below for your enjoyment. Of course, if you're interested in any of these pieces, please reach out to myself or Matt Coles (matt@algonquinartcentre.com) to discuss further.

THE SPIRIT OF THE GROUP OF SEVEN ~ postponed until further notice

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Group of Seven, this themed exhibit features contemporary works from Canada's foremost landscape and wildlife artists as they explore, interrogate, and celebrate the spirit that moved the Group of Seven to find inspiration in Algonquin Park and Canada's wilderness areas.

As part of "The Spirit of the Group of Seven" exhibit, we''re working with the Medallic Art Society of Canada on a special show that honours Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven through original bronze cast medallions.

HOLLY FRIESEN''S "PORTRAIT OF ALGONQUIN" ~ postponed until further notice
|
|
|
Our 2019 artist-in-residence Holly Friesen returns to Algonquin Park for this incredible featured artist exhibit. Holly spent last fall at our Found Lake residence, exploring, sketching, and learning about the Park''s biodiversity alongside Park naturalists. Her show "Portrait of Algonquin" has been a year in the making and is a must see for lovers of art and nature alike!
