I am very excited to invite you to attend the new (and free!) AAVSO Observing Sections' Webinar Series!

Saturday afternoons June through September, one of our Observing Section Leaders will engage you in the excitement of their Section. Each unique Webinar will be complete with panelists hand-picked by our Leaders. These guest speakers will announce their topics in the weeks leading up to each session and will give you their personalized perspectives and professional knowledge. As webinar attendees, you can also connect with each other, ask questions, and make your thoughts heard by answering the live polls.

This series, headed by AAVSO Staff Astronomer Bert Pablo, and Executive Director Stella Kafka, is open to you all: AAVSO members, observers, and those not yet familiar with AAVSO. Whether you are a new observer exploring which type(s) of variables strike your fancy, or a seasoned observer looking to branch out, it is a great opportunity for you all to expand your knowledge, and deepen and grow your communities.

When you can do this:
                                         Saturdays, June 27^th through September 12^th, 2020
                                         2-4 p.m. ET (11 a.m.-1 p.m. PT, etc.)

Our Observing Sections are devoted to making observing more welcoming to beginners, and sharing how observers greatly influence professional research. Section members collect and submit observations (including those asked of them by professional astronomers), publish monthly data and current star events, and participate in forum discussions.

Our Observing Sections'' Webinar Series is an opportunity to familiarize yourself with Observing Section topics and connect with members, especially if you are uncertain about plunging in. For experienced members, it is an occasion to further immerse yourself in your passion, and to welcome newcomers.

Registration is open for the first three webinars, and will open for the others on a rolling basis. We would be thrilled to have you join us on these summer Saturdays, so claim your seat(s) at these personalized and fun experiences!

In response to your requests for greater attendance capacity, we upgraded our Zoom Webinar account to allow for more participants.
