	LOVE IN PORTOFINO Immortalised in "Love in Portofino", a famous Italian song of the Sixties, just the mere mention of Portofino conjures up a vision of timeless glamour. A magnet for celebrities during that golden era, its frequent visitors included such luminaries as Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor and Marcello Mastroianni. Today, it remains just as alluring, with George Clooney, Madonna and Denzel Washington just a handful of the names who are drawn by its special atmosphere. What better setting, then, for the launch last week of the Magellano 25 Metri? A truly magical and significant day for Azimut Yachts began with a press conference held at the wonderful 700-year old Cervara Abbey with its magnificent gardens and breathtaking sea views. Then, as the sun began to dip, guests stepped on board the Magellano, with the inimitable multi-coloured buildings of Portofino bathed in the soft glow of sunset creating a picture-postcard background. It could have been a film set. And in fact, as guests moved to the town's iconic square and sipped their drinks, the sky darkened and attention turned to a large screen where the opening images of the worldwide premiere of the short film "Open your Eyes" flickered to life. Its director Gabriele Muccino (internationally best known for "The Pursuit of Happiness" starring Will Smith) was present to introduce it and we will share more details of this very special project at a later date. Once the closing credits had rolled and the resounding applause had subsided, our guests made their way back towards the dock where the star of the day, the Magellano 25 Metri, lit up the shimmering water and provided a fitting backdrop to the exquisite food arrayed before it. And so, as a magical afternoon and evening came to its close, we think it is fair to say that more than one guest left singing "I found my love in Portofino..." We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ferrari Trento and Loro Piana for helping make this unforgettable day a success.

During the press conference, Vice President Giovanni Vitelli announced that Marco Valle, currently head of Azimut Yachts, is moving into the newly-created role of CEO of the entire group.

	THE GREAT GRANDE FOR THOSE WHO AREN'T AFRAID OF GROWING UP Growing up, growing older, or simply growing is the natural order of things. The children of yesterday are today's adults. Seeds planted decades ago are now towering trees. What were once upon a time merely dreams or fantasies transform to become true and intense passions. The spirit of growth is something Azimut Yachts is very familiar with. In fact, some might say it is embedded in our DNA. Since the very beginning, over 50 years ago, the company has demonstrated an indomitable belief in itself and the sector, as it has continued to grow, fearlessly pushing the boundaries in a quest to become greater in every sense of the world. It is also no coincidence that one of its most successful collections is called GRANDE, which translates from Italian as large, big or great. And so we are proud to announce not only the arrival of the biggest boat ever produced in our shipyards, but also the news that it represents our first foray into tri-deck design. And, like any proud parent, we would love to share photos and a few more details. What better place to start than the breath-taking panoramic terrace which seems to float several metres over the sea? This extraordinary feat of design is achieved by an innovative raised aft cockpit that is divided into a sea-facing open-air zone that merges into a covered, patio-like area as it continues towards the prow. The exterior lines are elegant yet commanding, just as you would expect from a flagship. Then there is a beach area that, even if we do say so ourselves, is truly stunning, with its 30 square metres surface hovering tantalisingly close to the water. The interiors, designed by Achille Salvagni, also represent a bold evolution with creative new dimensions and a d?cor that evokes the idea of a spacecraft, with a nod to the Samurai era. A daring, original contrast that surprises and delights. The GRANDE has already captured the hearts of four clients scattered throughout the globe, so it is fair to say that not only is it a big boat, a great boat, it is also a great success!

	VISITORS FLOCK TO THE NEW AZIMUT YACHTS VIRTUAL LOUNGE In the first week since its launch, thousands of visitors have registered on the new Virtual Lounge! We have also seen enormous interest in the Live Chat and one-to-one video appointments that are a key feature of the inaugural Azimut Yachts e-Boat Show, which runs from 27 to 30 May. Don't forget that the last day to register for a live chat or video call is Monday 25 May. In a separate article, the Robb Report published an interesting interview with Azimut | Benetti Group Vice president Giovanna Vitelli and Alberto Mancini, the talented young designer behind the exteriors of recent S and Flybridge models.
His contagious enthusiasm and extraordinary capacity to create designs that articulate a truly innovative yachting language make him the ideal partner to interpret Azimut's vision for yachts that continue to push the bar. His background in the automotive industry has seen him introduce a soft yet dynamic touch to the yachts he designs, without ever losing sight of the brand's DNA. In Giovanna Vitelli's words: "Alberto is open to new challenges, and so am I. That's definitely one of the reasons he was chosen by us."

	BCOOL: HOW DOES CRUISING THE SEA AS THOUGH YOU WERE AN ASTRONAUT SOUND? 	OUR RED CARPET DEBUT Azimut Yachts celebrates the new Magellano 25METRI with a presentation of a short film by renowned Italian director Gabriele Muccino at the Rome Film Fest. There is a first time for everything and special first moments give rise to extraordinary emotions. And we certainly felt emotional to be part of the international cinema scene for the first time with the official presentation last week of Open your Eyes, a short film created to mark the debut of our Magellano 25METRI. For us, it was a truly historic moment, so what better setting than the Eternal City and the prestigious Rome Film Fest? It was just as you would imagine such an event, with the glamour of arriving on the red carpet, shimmering lights, the flash of cameras, gorgeously dressed attendees and rapturous applause for this small but perfectly formed jewel of a film that seems to be capturing the hearts and imagination of all who see it.

Azimut Yachts presents the Magellano 25METRI, a yacht created in partnership with the internationally renowned artist and architect Vincenzo De Cotiis, who brings his unmistakable signature style to the interiors, while Ken Freivokh is behind the timeless elegance of the chic and sophisticated exterior lines.
