Balmain’s 1945 Collection— the house’s latest offering— salutes that audacious spirit of the Balmain House’s founder in the post war period.
For this new line, Creative Director Olivier Rousteing was inspired by Pierre Balmain’s strongest mid-century designs to create a bold collection of soft-leather and jacquard bags, in a variety of sizes and shapes.
The “PB” initials reference the founder and his house, while the motif reflects Pierre Balmain’s fascination with the labyrinths of France’s most beautiful Renaissance gardens.

Olivier Rousteing, the Creative Director of Balmain, is a long-time fan of Trudon candles. The Ernesto candle is a particular favorite, with Rousteing often relying on the scent for both his home and studio.
Building upon that longstanding relationship, the new Balmain x Trudon candle is the result of a unique partnership between the two Parisian houses.
The striking container, inspired by the pattern of Balmain’s iconic marinière, relies on horizontal stripes and the house’s two signature colors: gold and black.
The fragrance features leathery notes, Atlas cedarwood, gunpower and cigar notes, and a mysterious and distinguished black rose accord.

Alexandre Balmain, Pierre Balmain’s grandfather, traveled across Europe in the 1800s, carrying an enormous trunk filled with a selection of jewelry, ribbons and hardware for his clients. Inspired by that unique Balmain family history, Olivier Rousteing and his team turned to some of France and Italy’s most talented artisans to create a new collection of luxury trunks, each covered with recently revamped version of Pierre Balmain’s PB-Labyrinth pattern. Of course, only the finest materials were acceptable for this new line—including beautifully grained American Walnut, flawless and supple calfskin, an impressive Jacquard and uniquely Balmain golden embellishments.
Only available on request, these exceptional trunks are available in 4 different sizes.
