The UK Government has announced that from Monday 13 July, beauty therapists nail technicians, holistic therapists, spas, tanning salons and other close contact services can reopen, subject
to some restrictions on particularly high-risk services as per the
Government guidelines.

The COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control is an online course written specifically for beauty and hair salons. It takes you through a checklist of the things you need to consider and the possible changes you will need to implement prior to re-opening your salon business to the public. A downloadable template is provided for you to create your own COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Policy which you can display on your website and send to your clients.
This course is available free of charge for all current Full and Associate Guild members. Log into your account on Beautyguild.com and go to the COVID-19 course details. Click on the Enrol Now button and you will be able to start straight away. Once you have completed the course you will be emailed your COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control certificate.

Until the Government announces details of when the lockdown restrictions will be lifted, the professional beauty and hair industry remains shut down. Even when we are told it is safe for us to go back to work, it may take some time before we are all operating at the same level as we did before.
The Government will advise when salon businesses are allowed to re-open. However, the decision on
how (or even IF) you re-open is one that you will need to make for yourself.
In order to help salon businesses plan and prepare for re-opening, The Guild has written a new GTi course - COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control. This is an online course written specifically for beauty and hair salons which takes you through a checklist of the things you need to consider and the possible changes you will need to implement prior to re-opening your salon business to the public.
