Cody Firearms Museum now open after its amazing renovation

We've reported here the plans and progress of the Cody Firearms Museum's renovation over the past several months. We're pleased to say the redesigned space is now fully open!

1. Our Skype in the Classroom program, now in its 6th year, has reached 100,000 students! Learn about the power of these virtual fields trips in this interview with our Digital Learning Specialist Megan Smith.

2. The Center of the West has also won a Sustainability Excellence Award from the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) for its long-term endeavors to reduce energy consumption.

Join us for the Smithsonian Channel's documentary celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Through interviews with astronaut Michael Collins, the children of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, members of Mission Control, and more, the film gives us an in-depth look at one of the most important 24-hour periods in history.

Moving Walls Film and Panel Discussion

Documentary: Moving Walls
Join us for Moving Walls, a 25-minute film which reveals the past and present state of those barracks. The film is followed by a panel discussion with two former Heart Mountain internees, a historian, and the filmmaker.
