Dear Friend,
Independent local journalism is an essential service, now more than ever. With a global health crisis affecting our communities, it''s important to know what''s going on outside your door. And you''ve turned to us.
At Bushwick Daily, we''re proud to deliver coverage and resources in your area about COVID-19, as well as inform our audience on upcoming local elections, rezoning efforts, community organizing, arts and culture in the neighborhood, and more. In the past two years, we produced over 800 original articles written by 50 local freelance journalists on a variety of pressing issues, including the fight for racial justice, unemployment relief, NYPD disciplinary records, eviction pauses, and food security. Our voices reflect a diversity that is all too often missing from newsrooms. In 2019, 66 percent of our journalists were women and 36 were people of color.
Bushwick is a place we are proud to call home, and, at Bushwick Daily, we strive to bring you reporting that not only informs but also fosters engagement with the community we all love.
But we can''t do it alone. That''s why today we''re launching a two-week fundraising and subscriber campaign ending on January 17.
If you value local journalism that helps Brooklynites stay abridged of what''s happening in their local neighborhood, become a subscriber today and support Bushwick Daily.
For $5 a month, you'll be added to the Bushwick Daily Subscriber Newsletter. For $15 a month, you'll receive a free Bushwick Daily Tote Bag, which unlocks perks around the neighborhood. And for $25 a month, you'll receive a Bushwick Daily Tote Bag, get a personal thank you in our Subscriber Newsletter, unlock exclusive invites to events and parties post-COVID, and snag free drinks at participating bars when things are back to normal.
You can also make a one-time or recurring donation. All donations of $25 or more get you a free Passport to Bushwick while supplies last.
Can we count on you to support local journalism in 2021?
