Hi Evelyn,
I am reaching out to you with an urgent plea.
The young kids in our Head Start program are not returning to the classrooms this fall. It just isn’t safe to do that right now.
This breaks my heart, because I know that this means lost educational opportunities for over 900 low-income kids who are already at high risk.
Right now their parents are worried about how they will manage distance learning at home. Many of them don’t have the educational materials they need - books, supplies, and other curricular-based activities.
Will you help provide these essential materials to a child in need?
Your gift today will provide a child with a basket of developmentally appropriate educational materials and activities to do at home. To encourage family literacy, these activities will be tied to a story for the parents and child to share together and will align with our distance learning curriculum.
Your gift of $25 will provide a week’s worth of developmentally appropriate materials for one child. A gift of $100 will provide these carefully crafted activities for a child for an entire month.
The early years are a critical window for brain development and are essential to prepare kids for kindergarten. We can’t abandon these kids during such a critical time.
Your gift today will help a young child stay on track and will help provide other essential services to low-income families throughout Washington County.
Nothing can replace the personal interactions that happen in a preschool classroom. But with your help, these kids will have what they need at home, so that they don’t get left behind.
