The Celtic Zodiac
Dear Jayden;
On behalf of Celtic Radio, we would like to wish you a very Happy Birthday today!
Our Celtic Astrologist has told us that your birthday is associated with The Ash Tree. You can read more about people that share your birthday by visiting this link:
Celtic Astrology was created by the Druids sometime around 1000BC. The Druid religion was based on 3 basic strands of belief: the first was to remember their ancestors and the past; the second was to have an understanding
of nature so that they could work with it, not against it; and the third was to explore the connection of everyday reality with that of the spiritual realm.
In Celtic Astrology, the Zodiac is based on the trees that the Druids held sacred. It was believed that the trees themselves expressed personal characteristics that could then be associated with particular months of the year. This was done by connecting the tree to a lunar month through the use of the consonants in the Celtic alphabet.
You can read more about the Celtic Zodiac on our website.
If you would like to talk to other members in our community about your birthday, feel free to visit our special birthday thread. A warm welcome will certainly be made by our many active and thoughtful members:
Again, we hope you have a terrific day and that all of your birthday wishes come true!

We would like to take this moment and wish
everyone a safe and healthy St. Patrick''s Day this year. Who would have thought
that this day would see a national and world crisis centering on a Global
Pandemic that is griping communities and nations with fear? In our own
communities here on Celtic Radio we have received several messages from
well-known members dealing with the effects of the flu, coronavirus and
pneumonia. We wish them good luck and prayers on this day in staying
healthy and recovering from their own individual health
crisis.
Currently, Celtic Radio and our music channels remain on the air
playing 24/7. Our App, website and music directories continue to stream the
music of our ancestors. Feel free to tune in today for the type of Celtic music
you wish to hear. Escape to our Ye'' Old Celtic Pub for some traditional St.
Patrick''s Day music or perhaps some soothing Celtic music might be more
appropriate through our Celtic Moon broadcast.
Because of this Global
pandemic, we have decided to suspend any postal mailings of Contest CDs, bumper
Stickers or products due to the risk of un-intentional infection. Since we cater
to an older crowd of folks, the last thing we want to do is spread this virus at
all. The latest news indicates that the virus can live up to 24 hours on
cardboard or envelopes. The current contests running will complete and the CDs
will be mailed out once this crisis has passed.
Unfortunately, this will
result in the delay of our yearly fund-raising event which provides Celtic Radio
with needed financing to pay our bills and keep the music and website running.
At this time, we would appreciate your financial support through the
Celtic Radio Founder''s membership. Understand that any welcome gifts will be
delayed until this crisis passes. We would very much appreciate your support
either through a monthly or yearly account which provides you with premium
access to our App. Please see the link below for more
information.
Everyone please be safe and healthy this
St. Patrick''s Day. Take a break from the news today and immerse
yourself in one of our channels for a little St. Patrick''s Day break. Let''s
have a toast for Victory over this virus and next year we can celebrate St.
Patrick''s Day proper with parades, music and pubs!
Please everyone stay healthy and listen to
news advice which could help save lives including your own. Thank
you.

Health!),

Jayden, We hope that our
Celtic Radio members are staying healthy and inside during this COVID-19
pandemic crisis. To our healthcare and front line workers, we offer a 100,000
thanks for all that you do. From saving lives to keeping the stores
stocked.
We thought over the next few months
we would offer our Celtic Moon channel and our Celtic Christmas
channel to our free section of the Celtic Radio App. Perhaps this might provide
a little bit of calmness if you are trying to escape the 24/7 news
coverage. We have received many comments that these two channels in particular
help people throughout the day and night.
Now available through the Basic
Listening Option on the Celtic Radio Network App for the next few months.
Download the App with the following links.
Do you really like our App? Then
give us a rating in the App Store or Google Play store. Much appreciated!
:)
Listening on a computer, then
connect directly to our web-based player page.
Everyone - please stay
healthy and we will all get through this. You are all in our thoughts and
prayers. Thank you very much!

Jayden,
We have some exciting news to
tell you about Celtic Radio! Currently we are building out a brand-new website
that will be located at CelticMusicRadio.com that will feature some of the
latest technology in website development and radio streaming. While not meant to
be a replacement to CelticRadio.net, CelticMusicRadio.com will be an easy,
beautifully displayed central location to tune into the Celtic Radio music
channels. Featuring gorgeously rendered landscapes from the Isles of Scotland
and Ireland and a design that will have a calming effect. The new website will
include brand new audio players that will work just as easy on a phone, desktop
or tablet.
Tune in now to the Highlander
Radio test channel to experience our new audio widget. If you are on a limited
data plan for your phone, try the CD version of the stream which uses less data
to prevent buffering.
Enjoy the
test channel and stay safe and healthy!

The Deer''s Cry latest CD called "Rise with the Dawn".
Sign
up today and you might have a chance

"The Deer?s Cry is another name for the beautiful
Saint Patrick?s Breastplate prayer. The name arose from the following story:
In 433 A.D., the High King of Ireland set out to ambush Saint Patrick and
his followers to prevent them from spreading the gospel in his kingdom. It
is said that Saint Patrick and his followers approached the kingdom singing the
breastplate prayer, and by the power of the Spirit, appeared to the king and
his men as only a herd of wild deer, and so were able to pass through
undetected."

Have a great day and be
safe!

Happy New Years!
Jayden,
Tune into Highlander Radio for our Annual
Auld Lang Syne marathon - 6 hours of Auld Lang Syne from all of your favorite
musicians that you have come to know and love! Starting soon.
New Year in Scotland - Hogmanay
New Year in Scotland as it''s known to
outsiders or Hogmanay as it''s known to the Scots, is one of the UK''s best
attractions. As a rule, Hogmanay starts at noon upon Dec.31st going through to
midday on Jan. 1st, although in the present day it could actually run to Jan
2nd, all determined by area custom.
The explanation as to why Hogmanay
has become so outstanding inside Scotland is simply because Christmas time had
been prohibited by the Scottish Presbyterian Church from the 17th century to the
1950''s. It is said by many people that the Scottish usually do not really
observe Christmas, it is simply the warm up for the big event -
Hogmanay!
Festivals occur from metropolitan areas to small communities
such as Kilmelford on the western coast. Those wishing a traditional Hogmanay in
this kind of restful landscape will get superior self-catering cottages in
places such as Melfort Village.
