Francisco Rodr?guez ''In the night we believe'': an essay by Dylan Huw |
"Francisco Rodr?guez'' paintings are imbued with a sense of darkness, not so much in their actual composition but in the condition they convey; a darkness which feels as if it might encompass light and play and gleeful rebellion, as well as badness, and nothingness. I got a sense of the ghostly from them long before their context rendered them actual ghost images..." |

Yn y paentiadau ceir ymdeimlad o dywyllwch - nid yn eu cyfansoddiad ond yn y cyflwr y maent yn ei gyfleu: tywyllwch sydd fel pe gallai gwmpasu goleuni a gorfoledd a chwarae, ynghyd ? gwacter, a dimbydedd. I mi, roedd rhywbeth drychiolaethol yn eu cylch ymhell cyn i'w cyd-destun droi'r delweddau yn ddrychiolaethau gwirioneddol..." |

CREATIVE COMMUNITY
This is our favourite time of year as it normally means Art Car Bootique! Each year we celebrate the creative
community of Cardiff & South Wales with our eclectic outdoor festival - the coolest car boot sale with over 70 stalls of art, fashion, performance, street food
and music.
Sadly, we can't celebrate with
you in person so we thought that we'd shine a light on some of the amazing
makers that would''ve been joining us! Artists and makers have been hit hard
by the pandemic, many of them have lost their livelihoods so they need our support now more than ever. |

Chapter Archive: Pete Fowler
Next year we celebrate our 50th Birthday. To mark this
momentous occasion we're looking back through our archive at some of the
incredible events, exhibitions, gigs, gatherings and people who've made Chapter
what it is today.
This week, we're thinking about Pete Fowler's 2007 psychedelic exhibition. Cardiff-born artist Pete created this site-specific painting in our old-style caf?-bar just before we re-styled it into the space we know today.
Pete has recently created a range of colouring sheets that includes the outline of this wonderful work for Chapter. We hope they'll keep the kids excited and entertained during lockdown! Download them using the link below. Be sure to tweet or tag us with your lovely creations of magical creatures! |
To help us reopen and reach our 50th Birthday milestone, please consider donating at easydonate.org/CHAPTER or to give ?10 text CHAPTER to 70191. Thanks for your support. |
