on their Heroes of Hooch tour, a hilarious and intoxicating look at history’s
greatest drinkers. Enjoy five free
drinks as the award-winning experts reveal how alcohol has inspired pioneering
explorers, politicians and painters in equal measure, from Plato and Picasso,

Monday 17 February to Friday 21 February, Leisure at Cheltenham Leisure at Cheltenham is offering the opportunity to train to become a
lifeguard. The centre in Tommy Taylors Lane is running a national pool
lifeguard qualification course, regarded as the industry gold standard

Thursday 6 February, 12pm–2pm, The Wilson Are you interested in the Arts and Crafts movement and would like to hear more about the life and work of Gloucestershire’s leading architect and designer Ernest Gimson?
The Wilson is offering an exclusive event as part of the winter Gimson exhibition, Observation, Imagination, Making.
Join us at this special event and enjoy a talk on Gimson by renowned author, curator and lecturer Mary Greensted. For many years Mary was responsible for Cheltenham’s nationally important Arts and Crafts Movement collection. She is a leading expert on Gimson and has recently co-authored a book on his life and work (available for purchase at The Wilson).
This special event also includes a screening of Harold Bain’s short film ‘The Cotswold Craftsmen’ a demonstration by a local maker and afternoon tea in the unique setting of the third floor gallery.

visited the Ernest Gimson exhibition at The Wilson? This winter exhibition,
Observation, Imagination and Making charts the course of the life and work of this
renowned designer and architect, one of the leading names of the prestigious
and nationally important Arts and Crafts movement. The exhibition runs until 25 February. Tickets
are £5 and are available here.

Saturday 25 January, 10am–1pm, The Wilson Are you feeling creative and looking to try something new? Why not come
and try your hand at creating your own plaster cast tile at a half day workshop
at The Wilson. Follow in the footsteps of leading
Arts and Crafts movement designer and architect Ernest Gimson by learning how
to create a plaster cast tile based on his work. The half-day session is led by
an instructor who will show you how to work in plaster of Paris to create a
relief tile. The session is £45, places are limited so early booking is
