I hope that you’ve enjoyed tuning into CIS Superhero Thursdays on Channel 3 to hear the stories of our compassionate and devoted site coordinators — Chelsea, Agustin, Cornell, Cheryl and Jackie. And, these are just five stories of the more than 80 site coordinators who are in 75 schools across Nevada, serving 75,000+ students!
Throughout the last year, as we’ve found ways to adapt our model to do whatever it takes in service to our children, I have found inspiration in their resilience. If you missed the segments and still want to see them in action, I’d encourage you to watch the videos here.
Over the last several weeks, we’ve been reaching out to supporters to raise funds that allow us to surround students with a community of support empowering them to stay in school and succeed in life.
We are grateful for the support we’ve received thus far and are ONLY 10% away from our goal! Your support WILL make the difference in getting us across the finish line. Please head here to donate now!
The effects of school closures and the loss of routine, social connection, and access to other in-school supports has been unfavorable for children’s development. Compound this with a global health crisis, economic uncertainty and widespread unemployment, and nationwide political divisions. Our families and our children are struggling — and it’s on us to do whatever it takes, no excuses, to meet them wherever they are.
Without community support, the students we serve face mounting barriers that increase the likelihood that they will disengage from their education, drop out, and fail to earn a high school diploma. The deck continues to be stacked against them — but together we can make a difference.
That’s why I’m asking for your help to reach our fundraising goal. Every dollar we receive from generous donors like you will go toward providing supports that enable student success.
Please consider donating whatever is in your means to help us help those students and families most impacted by this global crisis. You can donate now by heading here.
