We’re bringing Leeds based artist Jamal Gerald, to Manchester on 19 - 21 March, at the Royal Exchange.
Combining African diasporic ritual, music and storytelling, IDOL is a spiritual journey that asks what happens when you don’t see yourself represented. Featuring a host of celebrity appearances.
Carrying on with the theme of idols, we're bringing live loop artist Xana, to STUN Studios 20 - 21 March to premiere their show.
Swallowing Your Idols is told through synths, hacked toys, looping and poetry. Swallowing Your Idols brings the child, the teenager and the adult together in an apology owed to your past selves.
It’s a love letter to Black childhood, to the worlds we’ve built and the inheritance of our family legacies.
In September we partnered with STUN to find an artist/company who uses Grime music to connect with audiences and create a studio-scale show.
We’re delighted to announce we had a winner, and have co-commissioned Manchester Grime artist, MC HYPES. Hypes will be creating a brand new piece of work called ‘The Treatment,’ themed around ADHD. The Treatment will premiere at Contact in 2021 - watch this space for dates and ticket info.
