Dear Fellow Cuers
The NCSA is excited about the activities of the past year, the places we have seen Cued Speech grow, and the lights in children’s eyes as they process cues.
We have taught classes in Denver, CO and Washington, DC, participated in conferences, and joined in the increasing discourse to advocate for our children. In this arena, NCSA is taking a leadership role in advocating for kids by supporting the family’s right to choose how their child is taught.
The NCSA continues to sponsor Cue Camps across the country each year. Our Basic Instructor Workshop, assessments and testing program ensure quality Cued Speech instruction is available nationwide. Annual scholarships ensure our support of deserving college cuers. And our native cuers have joined hands as leaders.
Every day the NCSA addresses the needs of native cuers and families with children who are deaf and hard of hearing through the Deaf Children’s Literacy Project, encouraging the choice to cue so children with communication needs can access language, literacy, and communication.
Communication, language, and literacy are so vital for all children. We need your help to continue our work. The NCSA relies on gifts from friends like you to make it possible for us to reach out to others.
As you think of your end of year holiday gifts, I am personally asking you to consider a generous tax deductible end of year gift to the National Cued Speech Association.
Every dollar counts!
