WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire/ --?With the iconic "O" wreath hanging on the Union Market sign and the smell of pine returning with the annual Nall''s Christmas tree pop-up, the holiday spirit is in full swing at the Union Market District with COVID-safe district-wide festivities.
On December 3, Union Market District kicks off Shop The District with?two weekends of safely distanced pop-ups, winter coat drive, art walk and outdoor activations throughout the unique spaces of the Union Market District.
The mission of Shop the District is to encourage safe and local holiday shopping while amplifying the small business retailers and partners of the Union Market District community. Shop the District holiday pop-up partners include:

The CornerBazar is an eclectic range of curated crafts and products in a safe, socially distanced indoor/outdoor environment that helps socially conscious shoppers check off their gift lists in one stop.

COVID-19 safety and social distancing measures:?
All of our retail locations will follow the safety protocols listed below to meet DC Health and CDC recommended guidelines.
Signage will be posted at entrances and around marketplaces reminding customers and staff of basic protocol: 1) masks are required at all times, 2) practice social distancing, and 3) perform frequent hand hygiene.
In support of social distancing, markers will be placed in appropriate places on the ground.
In support of hand hygiene, hand sanitizer will be available at entrances to outdoor markets and at each of the vendors.
Vendor shops will be spaced appropriately to ensure safe distancing.
All individual vendors will be provided with DC Health information on how to screen and monitor employees for symptoms, as well as instructions for how to handle employees reporting or exhibiting symptoms.
Limited contact or contactless payment will be provided by all vendors.

Interior Designer Anna Kemper Launches Namesake Store in the Union Market District
Anna Kemper Atelier joins Union Market District''s 5th Street retail on July 15
WASHINGTON, July 9, 2020 /PRNewswire/ --?Union Market District will welcome Anna Kemper Atelier?(1266 5th Street NE), a new home d?cor boutique and the first eponymous brick-and-mortar location for the interior designer.?
Set to open?Wednesday, July 15, Anna Kemper Atelier will offer her fresh and layered approach in her custom design services, drawing inspiration from her collection of international and American made goods including home furnishings, lighting, vintage rugs, art and handpicked home accessories.?
The 2,430-square foot space within the Union Market District reflects Kemper''s signature aesthetic inspired by her global travels throughout her 20-year career as a professional interior designer. The space will showcase a rotating gallery including works from international and DC-based artists. The gallery launches with the late, French artist, Jacques Rouby whose work is being shown for the first time in the US.
Kemper began her design career in DC, then relocated to Columbia, South Carolina, where she built her portfolio of residential and commercial design projects.
