Dear Luke, Thank you for registering as an emergency volunteer.
WHAT DID YOU JUST SIGN UP TO? In the event that volunteers are needed for disaster related activities, disaster and emergency management agencies (including all levels of government, well known charitable organisations and community groups) contact us to source support from registered volunteers.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW? You may be contacted to volunteer if your registration details match the needs of disaster and emergency agencies requesting volunteers. Your skills and time will be important in the weeks and months to come. Your on-going involvement is invaluable, so please know that even if an opportunity does not come up straight away, your offer is still very much appreciated.
In the meantime, be sure to help your family, friends and neighbours if you can.
UNDERSTANDING DISASTER AND EMERGENCY ACTIVITY TIMELINES We understand that you may want to act fast and help out when disasters are at their peak, but please be patient and understand that disaster operations can take time for agencies to properly organise and some projects can be on-going for many months.
