EuroBrake Student Opportunities Programme applications are now open

The EuroBrake Student Opportunities Programme (ESOP) offers up to 50 students from around the world the chance to attend EuroBrake 2020. 

Selected students will be offered the opportunity to attend EuroBrake for free via a sponsorship package. Students will benefit from unique networking opportunities, a CV check/one to one career advice, access to the designated Student Lounge and EuroBrake Dinner and much more.

Submit your review-ready full papers by Sunday 26 January 2020

If your abstract has been accepted for presentation or as a poster at EuroBrake and you intend to submit a full written technical paper for peer review, you agree to follow FISITA's paper peer-review process. 

Review-ready papers need to be submitted by Sunday 26 January 2020 using the templates provided below. Before preparing your Technical Paper it is vital that you consult/download the Instructions (pdf) and Microsoft Word template so that your paper is formatted correctly.

It's the last few days to submit technical papers for EuroBrake 2021 and become a part of the Technical Programme. The Technical Programme celebrates and shares the latest in innovative thinking and has been organised into a range of topics including:

• Environmentally-friendly Braking Systems
• Fundamentals of Brakes
• Intelligent Braking and Braking Control
• Materials and Design
• Manufacturing and Markets
• Simulation, Testing and Innovative Development Processes

Submissions in new and related fields such as rail and wind power are also welcome. Organisations that submitted papers for 2020 include authors from OEMs (e.g. BMW Group, Ford, Toyota), Tier 1 suppliers (E.g. Haldex) and academic institutions (E.g. Leeds University, TU Darmstadt) and all are very welcome.

Telma on multiphysics with Ansys

Success story from the international braking technology community

Telma manufactures friction-free magnetic induction brakes for large trucks and other vehicles to ensure continuous braking over long periods of time. They use three Ansys simulation solutions - Ansys Maxwell for electromagnetics, Ansys Mechanical for structures and Ansys CFD for air flow - in multiphysics simulations to design these wear-free, eco-friendly, long-lasting brakes.  Telma engineers were able to increase braking performance by 30% while reducing the mass of the brakes by 25% using Ansys multiphysics simulation.

The EuroBrake Steering Committee invite you to submit a technical paper, presentation or poster for EuroBrake 2021, to take place across three days in May next year. 

The event is planned to be held in Germany and hosts around 140 presentation slots in technical sessions across the three days. These include both full paper and oral-only presentations. As with previous events, poster submissions are welcome. Posters will be displayed throughout the event and shared during a dedicated poster session. In addition, poster presenters can have an accompanying pitch video that will be displayed on screens during the event.

Accepted papers will be published on EuroBrake.net and presentations and posters will also be shared on the website after the event, if author permission is given.

For each accepted submission, one author gets free access to the online EuroBrake community for the year following the event. 

With the addition of some 2020 submissions deferred as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, we expect a rich range of technical content for EuroBrake 2021. The Steering Committee will work closely with reviewers and authors to create the industry-leading Technical Programme expected of a EuroBrake event.
