The negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic are being felt in communities both small and large. While changes taking place are disrupting the lives of nearly everyone in some way, food-insecure individuals continue to face particular challenges, and the number of people who experience food insecurity continues to increase. Vulnerable populations are particularly affected, such as women and families escaping domestic violence and sex trafficking, and low-income senior citizens.

HOW WE''RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The Midtown Farmers Market, our partners, and our vendors want to help, and you can too! Join us each Saturday in August by donating fresh and canned foods at the market information booth located at 20th and K streets. Each Saturday, donations collected will immediately be provided to WEAVE or low-income senior citizens living in Midtown, rotating weeks. By donating you will also be entered to win a market gift basket each Saturday valued up to $100 in market goodies.

The August 1 food donations will go to WEAVE''s Emergency and Transitional Housing Programs. The donations will ensure that survivors and their children have a variety of healthy foods to keep their bodies strong as they work to heal from physical and emotional trauma. WEAVE's mission is to promote healthy relationships and support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. C
