Dear Fashion District Stakeholders,
I personally wanted to take this opportunity to emphasize the importance of the upcoming election for a new city council person to represent District 14 in the City of Los Angeles.
As you know, much of the work that the BID does requires partnership with the City, and the Council Office is our direct connection to the various city department and agencies that we rely on. Everything from streetlights and sanitation to impacts related to development and quality of life issues all run directly through the Council Office.
Downtown LA needs a representative who understands the nuances of this dynamic neighborhood, who will fight to ensure that Downtown receives the resources needed to maintain the economic engine that we are for the rest of the City.
Elections for this particular seat have historically been determined by other neighborhoods in District 14, due in part to weak voter turnout among downtown residents. Whether you've been a downtown resident for 2 months or 12 years, this is your home, you have a voice, and you can make an impact!
To help you prepare for the upcoming Election on March 3rd, the downtown Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) have co-organized a CD14 Candidate Forum. The purpose of this forum is to introduce voters to the qualified candidates who are running for the CD14 council seat.
The CD14 Candidate Forum will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at South Park Center (USC Tower), located at 1149 S. Hill St., Los Angeles, CA 90015. Please RSVP using the button below and spread the word to your neighbors and friends.
Thank you for taking pride in your civic duty!
