Dear LA Fashion District Stakeholders:
The health and safety of the LA Fashion District neighborhood remains our top
priority. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, nearly all essential businesses including the BID, have made changes to do our part in containing the spread of the Coronavirus.
In the last 10 days, we’ve seen a steady decrease in the demand for maintenance services. Due to the large number of non essential businesses that have temporarily closed, we’ve seen a dramatic decrease in the amount of trash in our bins and on the sidewalks. We’ve reduced the Clean Team’s operations to 5am – 5pm, but they continue to empty trash bins, pressure wash sidewalks, remove graffiti, and disinfect publicly accessed infrastructure – pedestrian crossing buttons, sidewalk benches, trash bins, etc.
The BID has also added additional Safety Patrols in order to increase the safety presence in the district. The Safety Patrols have primarily been deployed on bicycles and in LA Fashion District Safe Team vehicles. The Safe Team continues to operate 24/7 and will be a key factor in helping to deter potential property crimes that may occur during this time.
We continue to reassess things on a daily basis as things progress, and will change and adjust clean and safe security protocols in order to meet the needs of the district as well as maintain a strong safety presence. We will continue to inform our stakeholders of any future changes in our operations.
In addition to continuing to provide clean and safe services for the LA Fashion District neighborhood, we continue to provide stakeholders with vital information on how to keep our neighborhood – residents, businesses, employees – safe and healthy.
