From 31 August to 11 September, FORUM-ASIA presented the Poster Series ''Human Rights in Southeast Asia in Times of Pandemic'', which draws from the findings of the corresponding report.

The report is a synthesis of a series of webinars organised by FORUM-ASIA with its partners Solidarity for ASEAN People''s Advocacies and SHAPE-SEA.

FORUM-ASIA is proud to present ''The Declaration on Human Rights Defenders and other resources'', a booklet highlighting the roles and rights of human rights defenders (HRDs), the responsibilities of both state and non-state actors towards them, and practical information for HRDs to enhance their security.

The booklet, which illustrates the content of the 1998 UN Declaration on human rights defenders, is an updated and enriched version of FORUM-ASIA''s poster series published on the Declaration''s 20th anniversary. 

The 45th Regular Session of the Human Rights Council runs from 14 September until 6 October 2020. FORUM-ASIA''s participation, through its UN Advocacy Porgramme, brings an Asian perspective to global human rights discourses to advocate for issues concerning human rights defenders in the region. 

Starting 21 September, FORUM-ASIA has been taking part in HRCNET''s #HRCelections2020 campaign, posting a series of infographics and videos on the importance of the Human Rights Council and the role of civil society in the upcoming membership elections of the Human Rights Council in October. 

On the 8th of October, FORUM-ASIA organised a webinar for the launch of the report on the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) 10th Year Commemoration and Diplomatic Briefing with the theme ''Solidifying the Role of Think Tanks and CSOs in the Advocacy to Strengthen the ASEAN Commission of Women and Children (ACWC)''.

A human rights lens puts everyone in the picture to ensure that no one is left behind in the worst public health crisis in a generation. And human rights defenders are paving the way forward towards more resilient and inclusive societies.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the dangers for defenders.

FORUM-ASIA detailed cases of pandemic-related violations against human rights defenders between 1 February and 31 May 2020. Here are the findings.

FORUM-ASIA is proud to present #DignifiedMenstruation, a campaign championing menstrual rights as human rights, between 3 - 9 August.

On 9 August, FORUM-ASIA in collaboration with its members Community Self Reliance Centre (CSRC) and Human Rights Alliance will premier a Story of Change featuring Nepal as a case study demonstrating the strides civil society across Asia has made towards dignified menstruation. Stay tuned!
