Hey! It's Kim! The founder and co-owner. Social worker turned aromatherapist turned fearless conductor of the smell train. Choo Choo!

Nick is the other owner and founder! He loves logistics. No really, he loves logistics. It's weird.

Dominique handles the day to day operations. She's a doula, health science, super person who you can rely on for anything!

Angela's hands are hard at work making our precious products a reality. She puts her soul into every drop, every bottle, and every smell that leaves F&M.

Luis has the unenviable task of making aromatherapy fun as the marketing/website/creative guy. Currently speaking in the 3rd person.

How do you know if your oils are legit?

Here''s a quick guide to help sniff out the fakers.

1. SMELL

Essential oils are supposed to smell like the thing they''re made of. If a "pure" oil smells overly chemically, alcoholy, or just off, then it''s best to steer clear.

2. The Label

At a grocery store, I saw chamomile oil for like $5. The ingredients read "pure chamomile oil." Ah! That''s how they get you! It should at least say "essential." Botanical name and country of origin, also good indicators of quality.

3. $$$$$

Essential oils are made from thousands of pounds of raw material, squeezed or distilled into little bottles of good juice. Good luck getting 1000 roses for $5.

4. That Bottle

I put some orange essential oil in a plastic bowl once and it straight up melted it. Essential oils must be in an airtight dark glass to protect UV heat and oxidization.

5. Drop it on paper

Oils in a carrier oil will leave an oily ring once dry when dropped on a piece of paper. It''s not bad if they label it as diluted, but it ain''t pure.
