Something for Your Body
If your current style is best described as "blanket chic," it''s time to dig deep, get off the couch, and get your body moving. (For like an hour, then sit back down. We''re not monsters.) Georgetown''s Outdoor Voices has an amazing selection of daily classes available online, and they''re all free to attend. Get your zen on at Virtual Ahana Yoga Flow, where the instructor will lead you through creative sequencing with uplifting mantras and a little bit of humor. Body Sculpt offers a resistance training and cardio interval class with an isolated focus on each major muscle group, perfect for people who still care about things like fitting into pants. No weights at home? Just bring a few soup cans. Another class offers a Richard Simmons-inspired 90s aerobics workout where you can dance your heart out and remember simpler times, while a BoxUnion class will leave you de-stressed and empowered to take on the rest of 2020. Click here to RSVP for these and so many other cool classes.

Something for Your Brain
Here''s your mental workout: Pretend this next item has something to do with your brain, since ours aren''t working at the moment...
This Saturday, April 25, DC small businesses affected by COVID-19 are coming together to encourage customers to #shopsmall - a Spring Small Business Saturday grassroots effort started by several local businesses. Georgetown''s Pillar & Post, Shop Made in DC, Little Birdies Boutique, Take Care, The Phoenix, Calloway Fine Art & Consulting, and Modern Trousseau are all participating. Visit the DC Shop Small website for all of the promotions - including free shipping, an online art show, gift cards to other local businesses when you spend $100, gift with purchase, and up to 30% off. Hey - a percentage, which involves math, which involves your BRAIN! See, we got there eventually.

Something for Your Happiness
If the next Mayor''s order could include some language regarding mandatory social distancing from carbs, we wouldn''t be opposed. Until then, may we continue to eat as we used to dance - like no one is watching. District Doughnut''s spring menu includes nutella cream, lemon bar, and chocolate creme brulee varieties, available for pick-up or delivery. They''ve also launched a Doughnations campaign where you can have doughnuts delivered at a discount to hospital workers, police officers, first responders, and other frontline heroes. Click here to fill out the donation form.
On the topic of things that make us happy, let''s throw in pork chops, filet mignon, and toilet paper available for purchase. Martin''s Tavern launched a new curbside take-out and delivery service this week, with favorite Martin''s dishes, plus a pantry store with grocery essentials, and a selection of bottled wine, beer and cocktails. Click here for more; tips will go directly to the Martin''s Tavern Relief Fund.

Something for Someone Else
The innovation that we''ve seen from so many businesses during this time is truly amazing, and the Framebridge story is one of our favorites. The Georgetown-based custom frame company is making the most of its machines that cut acrylic - typically used on the front of their frames - to produce face shields for frontline workers during COVID-19. As of last Friday, Framebridge shipped 3,000 face shields to doctors, grocery stores, and medical centers, with the ability to make 3,000 more per day if needed. If you want to support a company that''s supporting others, maybe now''s the time to tackle the Mount Everest of wall decor: the gallery wall. Deliveries will be delayed while Framebridge focuses on PPE manufacturing, but you can get some inspiration from the "How To" section of their website, and get your orders in place. If it''s a Mother''s Day gift, you''ll get a sneak peek of the framed product. Learn more about Framebridge CEO Susan Tynan with our feature on her.
While we''re on the kindness train, several of you have already generously donated to the Georgetown BID Employee Emergency Relief Grant fund, to assist employees in our commercial district who have lost their jobs as a result of the coronavirus crisis and need money to pay for rent, food, medical bills, or other emergency costs. We launched this donation campaign last week in partnership with Halcyon, a nonprofit based in Georgetown, and have raised over $10,000 to help those in need. Hundreds'' more grant applicants still need your help. To learn more and donate, visit georgetowndc.com/employee-relief-grant/donate.
