NEW! NIH Asthma Management Guidelines: Focused Updates 2020
The National Institutes of Health has announced 19 recommendations in six key areas of asthma diagnosis, management and treatment. They include using: inhaled corticosteroids when needed for recurrent wheezing or persistent asthma; long-acting antimuscarinic agents with inhaled corticosteroids for long-term asthma management; one or more methods to reduce exposure to indoor asthma triggers; allergy shots;?fractional exhaled nitric oxide tests to help manage asthma;?bronchial thermoplasty to treat selected adults with persistent asthma.?

Almost a third of young adults with asthma are ignoring COVID-19 guidelines
Researchers found that more than half of all respondents were not complying with the guidelines for COVID-19 prevention. Of those with asthma (12%), 100% were aware of the guidelines and measures established to prevent COVID-19 but 31% said they did not comply with them. A fifth of asthmatic participants believed they had no risk of suffering from COVID-19, and 4% stated that the disease did not exist.

Effect of the School-Based Asthma Care for Teens (SB-ACT) Program on Asthma Morbidity
