dbt Cloud Updates ??...

Hi William,

When you set up your dbt Cloud projects, you were asked to allow inbound access to your data warehouse from a single IP address (52.45.144.63). Starting on January 15, 2021, we will be allocating two additional IP addresses for sending outbound traffic to customers'' data warehouses.

These additional IP addresses will provide failover routes should we experience any network disruption through our subprocessor, AWS. This is, in part, in response to one such incident on October 9th that impacted dbt Cloud performance for several hours. This change ensures that a similar network disruption in the future would not degrade your dbt Cloud experience.

Action requested: Please adjust your data warehouse firewall allowlists to include the following dbt Cloud IPs:
52.45.144.63
54.81.134.249
52.22.161.231

Deadline: We will begin re-routing traffic to the above block of IPs on January 15, 2021. If appropriate adjustments are not made in time, your scheduled runs will begin failing on this date.

Exposures: Register downstream uses of dbt models (dashboard, ML pipeline, application) right from the DAG.
Preview of Slim CI: Run and test only changed models to save developer and warehouse resources.

dbt Cloud v1.1.14: Changelog and additional assets located here

SparkAdapter: Cloud support for backend models, mappers, and services.
OAuth for BigQuery: For use in dbt v0.19.0 (currently in beta)
GitLab authentication: Enterprise-only feature. User based authentication with GitLab enables large organizations to associate commits to their dbt project to particular user accounts, rather than a single service account, bringing greater transparency and security to those organizations development process.

Slim CI

In dbt CI/CD workflows, development branches are automatically tested before merging. Slim CI enables users to run and test only models that changed. dbt Cloud makes this even simpler by automatically kicking off jobs when PRs are opened, and locating the appropriate artifact from the appropriate job.

Ever receive the error "Authentication token has expired. The user must authenticate again" on one of your runs? You may want to enable the new session keep alive config within your Snowflake connection! This will keep your sessions alive beyond the typical 4 hour timeout limit.
