Fourteen years ago today, Global Press opened its doors with the audacious goal of revolutionizing the field of international journalism. Over the years we have trained more than 250 local women to become the journalists of record, offering dignified and precise journalism from places like Sri Lanka, southern Mexico, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Mongolia and more.
Together, we have published thousands of stories in many languages for millions of readers. And we''re still working hard to transform the disaster-driven narrative that dominates headlines from so many of our coverage countries.
Thanks to you, Global Press has transformed from a tiny, hopeful idea into a powerful engine of global change. Thank you for reading Global Press Journal and supporting dignity-driven global journalism.
Here''s to another 14!
