Dear Aaron,

A little over a year ago, in August 2018, the South Indian state of Kerala experienced the worst flooding in nearly 100 years, as monsoon rains pummeled the state. The destruction and damage to Kerala was heartbreaking. Around 430 people lost their lives, while nearly 1 million people had to be evacuated. Tens of thousands of homes were destroyed, leaving thousands of people without shelter and supplies. Even today, many are still working hard to rebuild their lives.

We are deeply grateful for so many who responded to our requests of giving toward the disaster relief efforts last year! These gifts enabled and equipped GFA-supported national workers with the necessary resources to bring physical help and hope to many affected by the flooding.

Since our national workers were already in the area, they were able to jump in to help in the relief efforts, rescuing people trapped in their homes and providing food and relief packages to thousands of flood victims who have lost almost everything.
