Between holiday shopping, Black
Friday, and Cyber Monday, there is much competition for your hard-earned
dollar—which underscores the importance of value. Giving Tuesday is a
newcomer among year-end traditions, but carries a new and unique
message: Amid the feasting, the baubles, and the gift wrap, set something
aside for the benefit of your community. In light of this newly minted
tradition, it’s worth considering the value and the impact of your
support for the Grant Park Music Festival.
It's good for community. Through the web, radio and live concerts, this free classical music festival touches tens of thousands of families each year. You
can double your money. By giving the gift of music between now and
December 31, your contribution to the Festival goes twice as far, thanks
to a generous matching grant from a long-time Festival patron. It's good for Chicago. Located at the city’s front doorstep, the
Grant Park Music Festival helps keep world-class art front and center
for Chicago’s 58 million visitors. With Millennium Park ranking among
the top ten most visited places in America, the Grant Park Music
Festival serves some 300,000 concertgoers of all ages and backgrounds. It promotes arts learning. The
Festival’s education and community engagement programs serve some
40,000 children and adults in locations across Chicago.
Additionally, in 2019 the Grant Park Music Festival’s Classical Campers
program provided an immersive musical experience for more than 1,700
campers. It feels good. Giving
has its own rewards. According to Psychology Today, researchers from
Harvard and the University of British Columbia found that “spending
money on others leads to lasting improvements in people’s overall
happiness.” Your gift is 100% tax deductible.

It’s no secret: the Pritzker
Pavilion is a premiere destination for summertime concerts. Did you know
it’s a splashy hot spot—year round?
At
the Grant Park Music Festival, we’ve noticed that music lovers like to
mingle. That’s why we established the Impresario Society, a dynamic
group of Festival supporters who gather winter, spring, summer and fall
for music, wine, hors d’oeuvres and good conversation.
During
the Festival season, the Society goes into high gear with exclusive
get-togethers before each concert at our Impresario Terrace. But the fun
continues during the off season with our popular Impresario Soirées, cozy
gatherings on the Pritzker stage. Our most recent Soirée featured a
lively recital by Grant Park Orchestra Assistant Principal Oboe and English Horn player Anne Bach. Made
up of Festival supporters who contribute $2,500 or more, the Impresario
Society offers a way for patrons to make new friends as they deepen
their involvement in the city’s musical life. “It
was my pleasure to share music and conversation with a room full of
folks who love and celebrate the Grant Park Music Festival as much as I
do,” said Bach. “I couldn’t be more grateful for their support, and now
I can’t wait to see them again in the Park.” Consider
joining the Impresario Society; help support this world-class music
festival while enjoying these special member benefits. |
