PSA: What we're doing to
prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
As you likely know, 22 cases of COVID-19, caused by the Coronavius, have been reported in New York State. According to the CDC, "the virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person including people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes." It also may be possible that a person can contract COVID-19 by "touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads." More information can be found online at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
The health and safety of our staff, volunteers, customers, and clients is our first priority, so at the Bookstore Caf? we have taken various steps to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (and other contagious viruses). These steps include:
- Increasing the frequency of which we're wiping down our caf? tables, counters, point-of-sale systems, bathrooms, door handles, and other common areas in the store
- Reviewing proper coughing and hand-washing with staff and volunteers
- Asking employees and volunteers to stay home if they're not feeling well
We ask that you partner with us in this effort to keep all of us healthy by:
- Washing your hands frequently (and well, in fact here are some great songs to sing while washing!)
- Covering your mouth with a tissue and then properly disposing of it if you sneeze or cough
- Staying home if you're not feeling well
- Get your flu shot -- it''s not too late!
We'll keep you updated of course, and we thank you so much for your support.
