We offer next day delivery as standard on all UK deliveries. However, if your parcel delivery is urgent, you can select timed or a Saturday delivery as an additional extra when placing your booking online.

Need a parcel to arrive within a specific time period?

If you need to ensure your delivery arrives at a specific time, that's not an issue. Guaranteed time slots can be requested on UK next day deliveries; we’re able to offer slots before 9am, 10.30am or noon with just a small charge. Just make sure you fill out the appropriate part of the next day delivery options of the booking form.

Please note, parcels collected on a Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Delivery is not available on Sunday or bank holidays. We do not currently offer collections on Saturday.

To be able to make a Saturday delivery, your parcel will need to be collected or dropped at one of our 50+ nationwide depots on a Friday. In order to arrange for collection on a Friday, you need to book no later than Thursday, before midnight.

Dear Valued Customer,

At the end of last year, the UK Government agreed to the Prime Minister's Withdrawal agreement from the EU. With this agreement in place, the UK has now entered into a transition period which will end on 31 December 2020. The transition period allows time for the UK and EU to negotiate trade deals, while businesses prepare for the planned changes.

During this transition period, the UK remains part of The EU Customs Union and single market. There is, therefore, no requirement for Customs declarations for cross border movements between the UK and EU.

Our booking form will be updated prior to 31 December 2020 to ensure we are capturing the right information for European shipments once the UK has left the EU. We will be in touch with you about these changes in December.

Covid-19 Update

1. DHL Parcel UK are still collecting and delivering parcels across the UK and delivering worldwide. All of our drivers are delivering contact free until further notice.
    
2. With immediate effect and until further notice, DHL Parcel UK have suspended all UK depot drop off services and deliveries to certain international destinations. Please do not book any depot drop offs as they will be refused - we are working on removing these services from our website. 
   
   
3. In the face of the challenges posed by the current global COVID-19 situation, we are working with our suppliers to maintain a reliable delivery service for you and your customers. Our air partner is currently mobilising their business continuity plans, monitoring and responding to rapidly changing local conditions. In order to ensure operational continuity and to keep connecting the world with a high-quality service, effective 1st April 2020 we will temporarily and until further notice increase air services taking account of Emergency Situation Surcharges that are being applied. This Emergency Situation Surcharge allows part coverage of the operating cost increases and the necessary air network adjustments during the time of this emergency situation.

Restricted and Prohibited Items

When you go on holiday, there's some items which you can't take on the plane, like liquids or sharp objects, and it's exactly the same when sending a parcel. We welcome most items through our network, but we do have some restrictions in place to ensure we follow the law, our people are safe and your items are covered. 

 An item may be restricted or prohibited because: 

1. It is against the law to transport (e.g. weapons, explosives or animals) 

2. It is hazardous (e.g. pain or chemicals) 

 3. It is high value (e.g. currency and precious stones) Learn more about what you can and can't send through our network below. 

Items Unsuitable for Carriage 

The above may seem fairly obvious (you probably weren't planning on sending animal parts or weapons any time soon), but there are some more common items which are deemed unsuitable for carriage. This includes fragile items. 

 If your item is easily breakable, any cover provided by us may be invalidated, and should your parcel cause damage to other parcels, we may recover the costs from you. 

 Items which are unsuitable for carriage include: ceramics, fossils, glass, items which are made from, or consist of rock and televisions with screen size exceeding 37 inches. 

Non Compensation Items

Unfortunately, we are unable to compensate for any items which are deemed as Dangerous, Prohibited, Restricted, Valuable or Breakable. In addition, no compensation can be given for shipments containing; alcoholic beverages, food, perishables, liquids or flora.

Accepted at Delivery Point now available

We recognise that in light of the uncertainty regarding coronavirus that it is paramount to ensure that we have processes in place to enable consumers to continue to receive deliveries while they may be at home for a period of time.

Our delivery choices will remain in place to ensure that consumers can arrange deliveries to suit them, whether selecting a safe place for our driver to leave the parcel or arranging to collect from a local DHL Parcel UK ServicePoint.

For consumers who want to accept deliveries at home but are self-isolating and minimising physical contact, a new delivery type description 'Accepted at Delivery Point' is now available.

On arrival at the delivery address our driver will knock or ring the bell and will then step away to a safe distance. If the consumer advises that they wish not to sign on the scanner, the driver will ask for their name, record 'Accepted at Delivery Point' and then take a photo of the premises.

If a consumer is unable to come to the door, a calling card will be left advising of alternative delivery options. A friend or family member can collect the parcel from either the local DHL Parcel UK depot or ServicePoint, they will just require the calling card, and ID for themselves and the person they are collecting on behalf of.
