Jared has long been committed to putting people first, and so we knew how important it was to do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by closing all our physical locations in March. Since then, we have taken the time to carefully plan how we would return to servicing our customers in-store and have been working to tailor our efforts to the new and different circumstances we are living in.
And so, today I am proud to share that Jared is opening a select number of our stores and beginning to welcome our valued customers into these locations - in a safe and responsible way, and only where state and local regulations allow.
We are taking a measured approach because the health and well-being of our employees and customers remains our number one priority. Guided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), federal, state, and local authorities, these stores have reopened at a reduced capacity with rigorous store cleaning procedures, specially designed to sanitize high-touch surfaces. Expanded social distancing measures to minimize contact in-store have also been implemented.
This initial phase of reopening is just the first small step in getting back to business in-person, but it marks an exciting milestone as we continue to fulfill our promise of helping customers across the country commemorate life's most special moments and occasions with love.
We have also been fulfilling this promise by reimagining our business and expanding the ways we can serve you - because we know that even if shopping in-store is not yet possible, it is ever more important that we provide you other opportunities to celebrate life and share love through the gift of fine jewelry.
Over the past few months, we have evolved our offering at Jared.com to ensure you have multiple safe and seamless ways to shop. These new programs will continue to be a centerpiece of our ongoing transformation and are available to you across the country today. They include:
Our Curbside Concierge program, designed to facilitate purchases, returns, exchanges, repair take-in and pick-ups, and payments in a contactless - but secure - way.
Virtual appointments with customers shopping online, with live audio advice from our jewelry professionals.
And, even a virtual wedding platform to help customers who had to cancel their wedding hold a ceremony safely and at no charge.
This was just the start, as we are committed to helping you plan and execute grand gestures from engagements to birthdays to anniversaries, graduations and more in a variety of ways.
