Jeep is the Official Vehicle Partner for the World Surf League Challenger Series and we are very excited to announce that Jeep NZ, will be at the upcoming Piha Pro! This event is the second Challenger Series event for the 2020 WSL season and will contribute as a qualification for the Championship Tour.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Ensure to bring your sunscreen, hat, towel and camera. The Piha Pro is a sustainable event and single use plastics are banned, please remember to bring your drink bottles as water refill stations will be available as well as your reusable coffee cup for a delicious Allpress coffee. There will also be stalls with food available for purchase.

The beach, council park and event are all smoke-free zones, drones are not permitted and you will need to leave your gorgeous dog at home as no pets are allowed at this event.

The Challenger Series will be held at Piha beach from 16th-22nd March and will be aired live on Sky Sport and the Sky Sport Now app.

This event is FREE! So make sure you plan your trip now!

GETTING THERE:
Due to the limited amount of parking space within Piha, and the challenging access via Piha Road, fans will only be able to enter Piha during the period of the Corona Piha Pro (16-22 March) by purchasing one of the following:

• A Vehicle Pass with designated parking in Piha - $20 per car per day (we recommend carpooling, as cost is per car not per person).
• Shuttle Buses departing Parrs Park in Glen Eden (18-22 March ONLY) - return tickets are $10 per person, and tickets must be booked for specific shuttle times.

Both of these options MUST be purchased prior attending the event, online at iTicket.co.nz.
If purchasing a Shuttle Bus ticket, people can either drive and use the Park-and-Ride at Parrs Park, or use public transport - Sunnyvale is the closest train station to Parrs Park.

Piha residents will be given Resident Vehicle Access Passes and Guest Passes to help ensure smooth and constant access for them throughout the seven-day event window.
There will be a managed access point on Piha Road (near the Karekare turn-off). Once through this point, vehicles with designated parking will be directed to their specific area. Managing access to Piha will help reduce the chances of congestion and ensure people can get into Piha more efficiently. Any vehicles without the required access will not be permitted entry to Piha at the managed access point.

2019 SURFING WORLD CHAMPION
 
CARISSA MOORE

 The Hawaiian born 2019 World Surfing Champion will be coming back to New Zealand for the first time since 2010 where she claimed her first major win during her rookie season in Taranaki. Since then she has won 22 times during the world tours. At only 18 years-old she claimed in 2011 her first World Championship title and became the youngest ever surfing World Champion. She also claimed the title of World Champion in 2013, 2015 and most recently in December 2019. The 27 year-old has already qualified for the United States team and intends to compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Safe to say, we can''t wait to see Carissa on our shores and tear up Piha.
