WBCSD to represent global business voice in Advisory Committee for 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit
The United Nations published the composition of the Advisory Committee for the 2021 Food Systems Summit on 29 June 2020. WBCSD President and CEO Peter Bakker has been invited to join the group chaired by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed and consisting of 26 Member State representatives and leading experts in food systems.

SOS 1.5: A new roadmap to action business commitments to deliver net-zero emissions
On World Environment Day, WBCSD released its new climate action roadmap to help companies reach net-zero carbon emissions before 2050. "SOS 1.5: The road to a resilient, zero-carbon carbon future" provides companies with a step-by-step framework and key actions to start and advance their journey to net-zero emissions - critical to keeping the world at a safe operating space for people and planet.

Helping electric utility companies to set science-based targets
WBCSD has released a new guide to help electric utility companies set science-based targets and reduce emissions. Its aim is to support more electric utility companies to overcome the challenges they face and set their own science-based targets (SBTs) to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy. The guide also reviews the Science-Based Targets Initiative''s (SBTi) latest scenario for the power sector to set SBTs in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

WBCSD has launched a comprehensive guide for corporate electric vehicle (EV) fleet adoption, to help companies accelerate their transition to sustainable, electric mobility. The website features geographically-relevant information resources on EV technologies, as well as clear steps to take in planning for and adopting an EV fleet and an overview of best practices and learnings provided by companies who have already undergone their fleet transitions.

CEOs urged to push governments to reverse nature loss as part of green recovery plans
WBCSD has signed a letter alongside the International Chamber of Commerce, WWF, We Mean Business, United Nations Global Compact, the IUCN, Business for Nature and 25 other groups calling on CEOs to work with governments to reverse nature loss now. Signatories say "nature is the beating heart of a green recovery" and "political leaders must hear from businesses that nature is a critical priority".

A recipe to reduce food loss and waste
