LAUNCHERS,
The LWL team just came off a Happy Vibes Workshop with Jaime Komer (more on Jaime below) and though anxious about the world around us, together we are feeling more positive, and energized, particularly by the conversations we get to have with you.
We know the news cycle is tough and business owners are struggling. We miss hugging you at events and seeing the magic when two women make a new connection. However, as LWL (like so many) have pivoted our organization in the midst of this pandemic, we are finding new insights like how special it is to bring two leading woman entrepreneurs from Sydney and Marin together, connecting with you thanks to Female Founder Office Hours with Anthemis and sharing a virtual cocktail for happy hour.
Let us know the silver linings you are experiencing through these times by tagging us or adding #LWLGlobal and we would love to share your wins with this amazing community.

FEATURED FOUNDER:
Jaime Komer, Empowerment Coach and Founder of Happy Vibes
This week's #FeaturedFounder bring us Jaime Komer, badass Olympic medalist & two-time world water polo champion turned well-being coach and founder of @happyvibeswithjaimekomer!
In addition to public speaking, coaching & podcasting, Jaime created Happy Vibes Bracelets which connects well-being and metaphysical properties of crystals with the concept of jewelry with a purpose.
50% of each donation-based Happy Vibes bracelet goes directly into Happy Vibes Grants for women-led, conscious small businesses. Why women led businesses? Because gender equity is a key ingredient for well-being on a social and cultural level. Happy Vibes wants to do its part to help shift social and cultural biases by celebrating and supporting women in business. We can get behind that.

THOUGHT LEADERSHIP:
"A Leader Doesn''t Have to Wear Prada" by Virginia Mendez
"Here we are, in the middle of 2020. A year that by all means, won't be forgotten. A lot has changed, and there are undoubtedly a lot more changes to come.
If you do a Google search for "leadership" the majority of images show white men in suits. They are climbing a mountain or rowing the boat with their team; they are pulling some cord or pointing decisively in a direction. There are some women too and some people of color, but let's be clear, leadership still seems to look like white, middle-aged men at the top of the ladder.
And even now, if we close our eyes and imagine what a leader looks like, they are still wearing a suit, at least sometimes the suit is gorgeous, made by Prada and combined with fabulous high heels.
Recent theories are redefining the skill set that a good leader needs, but we are still far from imagining women (the ones that don't necessarily lead multimillion-dollar international companies) when asked about leadership; even if those women might be the greatest example of having what it takes."
