Elections matter and have consequences. That''s why we want to encourage everyone in the US (or internationally if your elections come up soon) to engage and vote for candidates willing to modernize health care and make access to Lifestyle Medicine and Health Coach Practitioners easier.

You''ve probably heard by now that our Lifestyle Prescriptions? Health Coaches use the invaluable Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy Charts (and Directory) daily with clients.

The reason is simple: If you know the connection between specific stress-conflict triggers, emotions, beliefs & lifestyle habits with specific organ tissue (and you know the timeline of self-healing) then working with clients becomes a science and much, much easier.

Let me give you an example - courtesy of the wonderful Bobbi Farrell, Lifestyle Prescriptions? Health Coach and ThermoBuzzer Imaging Practitioner:

This client came to Bobbi for Thermography Breast Health Scans:

Bobbi was able to not just visually "see" the imbalances but using the Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy Charts she knew which specific root-causes needed to be addressed to help the client auto-regulate:

1) Breast Ducts: Relates to loss-of-touch/nurture stressors (in this case a separations from family; visually observable by hyperthermia in the left breast (non-dominant body side) compared to the right breast.

2) Colon: Indigestible life situations (chunks) - typically unresolved emotional hurt combined with an unhealthy diet; hypothermia indicating under function/congestion and lack of digestive energies.

3) Kidney Parenchyma: Low circulatory function can be connected to many different chronic processes; in this case: Kidney Parenchyma which typical is triggered by emotional overload or "water" too-much-pressure type of life conflicts). The cold extremities (not even registering on the ThermoBuzzer Scan) indicate that lack of circulatory strength and obviously something that needs to be addressed through targeted root-cause lifestyle modifications.

Ask any of our LPHC or LPHCS practitioners and they will agree that knowing Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy is like a map of how our organism really works - not just from a mechanical but from a holistic-integrative perspective.

PS: Here''s a short history:

After our amazing fundraising event in Beverly Hills which featured Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Dean Ornish, Christiane Northrup MD who we bought together for our Heal Breast Cancer Foundation, the idea of a National Yoga Month Awareness Campaign came up and to our surprise was approved rather quickly as a national observance by the US Department of Health and Human Services (Thanks Rachel Levine).

That same year, thousands of yoga and health enthusiasts participated in a 10-City Yoga Health Festival Tour featuring yoga classes, lectures, music, entertainment and exhibits.

Since then, the initiative has taken root as a global awareness campaign: educating, inspiring and motivating people to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Each September across thousands of yoga studios, teachers and yoga enthusiasts participate and celebrate National Yoga Month.

The National Yoga Month Awareness Campaign and National Observance is powered by the Lifestyle Medicine University Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, with volunteers around the world.

Chronic pain is such a debilitating condition to live with and one that conventional medicine doesn''t have many answers for that don''t involve a lifetime of prescriptions.

I''m specifically referring to chronic pain with no obvious cause - back pain, headaches and shoulder pain being some of the most common.

But is there an alternative?

Jane Oelke ND, PhD, LPHCS conducted research as part of her Lifestyle Prescriptions? Health Coach Specialist training that explores the link between the location of pain and related symptoms and belief patterns. Dr Oelke found there was a definite correlation between the beliefs of those surveyed and their experience of chronic pain. If there''s a correlation then there''s a possible solution. The process of supporting a client to change their beliefs and their lifestyle is relatively easy compared to exploratory surgery, a repeat prescription for anti-inflammatories or steroid injections.

Is this the new frontier for pain relief?

Just think of the implications, especially for chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia which can be a life-sentence for so many people.

One of our LPU graduates, Eileen Strong from the UK sent us this inspiring story of helping a client with chronic back pain.

"I was really interested in hearing about the recent research study by Lifestyle Prescriptions? Health Coach Specialist, Jane Oelke, ND, PhD, on Beliefs Affecting Chronic Pain Responses. It looked at belief patterns in relation to very specific bodily locations of chronic pain e.g. lower back, neck, finger, hip, ankle and so on. Jane found that the top two belief patterns she discovered, "I am not strong enough" and "I have too many responsibilities" correlated with the ability to control situations and the ability to manage or cope with chronic pain.

Recently, I worked with a client who had suffered chronic lower back pain for more than 4 years.

1. I used the Lifestyle Prescriptions? 10-Step Root-Cause Analysis Process to help me to help my client make some transformative changes . and let go of her 4 year back pain in 4 weeks.
2. First we assessed where the client was currently - Daily lower back pain, varying from 2 to 8/10 intensity.
3. Then we explored the conflict theme - a core self-devaluation, not strong enough, not supported, can't cope with pressure (Cerebral Medulla -/+) and established a timeline - Chronic for 4 years.
4. The next stage was to work with the clients emotions and beliefs - Emotions experienced: Deep Sorrow SUD 10/10, Hurt SUD 8/10 (reducing to 0/10 after the first session).
5. We then established the stress triggers - Stress trigger memory: client extremely upset when close friends moved away from the area, whom she would "never see again". Beliefs: "I'll miss them terribly. They loved and supported me. They were like my support system" Using the Lifestyle Prescriptions? Protocols & Techniques, the client was able to release the sorrow and hurt, and gained the insights that when her friend had moved away, it had been a significant turning point in life for both of them as they went on to explore new paths in life they may not have done otherwise.
   With the benefit of hindsight (upgrading the brain) she realized that she was now a wiser person, and believed she could now connect more deeply with gratitude, love, connection and the support of her Higher Self. She also recognized how it was powerful to support other people on their journeys through life too.
6. As a Lifestyle Prescription?, the client chose to focus on adding two new moves to her morning Yoga routine, to help strengthen the lower back (from the book "Organ-Mind-Brain-Yoga" by Johannes R. Fisslinger), and take a moment to stretch afterwards, stand tall and step into the "wiser version of myself, connecting with the love and support from the Universe" as she prepared to get on with her day.

The back pain reduced consistently over the next 2 weeks, and by 4 weeks had completely disappeared.

I just love success stories!"

This is a brilliant example of how working with Root-Causes and a straightforward and effective Lifestyle Prescriptions? can be and how important it is to find an empathic Root-Cause Health Coaching practitioner who really hears you and is able to decode Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy.

Building a strong immune system, eating and living healthily, stressing less, practicing yoga and mindfulness have been hot commodities since the 90''s. Everyone seemed to talk about it.

It feels like an eternity ago ... because in 2020 it all went out the door.

Have you heard much about it in the media, from politicians, social media or in conversations with family and friends?

A friend posted last week: "The only people that talk about building a strong immune system are comedians these days!"

But imagine this happening in your country ...

Your President or Minister of Health talks about the importance of building your immune system especially in times of a viral pandemic.

The good news is, it does happen in some countries. For example Dr. Zhong Nashan (China''s Dr. Fauci) appears regularly on National TV asking citizens to follow these simple, no-cost lifestyle and immunity enhancing practices:

1. Eat 3 meals a day (more plant; less processed, animal-based foods)
   
2. Sleep well for 8 hours
3. Exercise daily (like 30 min. walking)
4. Laugh every day; practice respect, forgiveness and gratefulness.
   
5. Have bowel movements every day
6. Create harmony in your family
7. Do not smoke or drink alcohol

I know... it''s often so much easier to get hooked into conspiracy theories, complain about things we can''t change at this very moment or get distracted in so many ways. But every one of us can practice these 7 Viral Defence & Immune System Habits daily.

There are many ways you can look at your experiences and we all have our ''pet'' theories on life. Do things happen for a reason? Is there a plan? Is it karma? Or genetics or nutrition, etc.

And while I don''t have any definitive answers on the global WHY, I do know that when it comes to the body, knowing your WHY is not only transformational, it''s also often super straightforward to uncover.

With that in mind I wanted to share a story from one of our much loved LPU faculty member - Annie Gedye, LPHCS.

Case Study: Spontaneous Conjunctivitis Healing

I recently traveled South to attend the funeral of a close friend's father who was 96 and had had a wonderful life.

Although we talk every week or so, I had not seen my friend for six years. This was my first foray away from my town and the furthest trip I have done in the last 4 months because of Covid!

I arrived and suddenly my eye watered more and more, and just before I left to drive home, I looked in the bathroom mirror and saw my eye was red. Driving home my left eye got more and more irritated, scratchy, itchy and red which made driving unpleasant.

So what does this experience mean from a Root-Cause Health Coaching and Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy point of view?
