Thanks so much for you interest in Little Dresses for Africa! Our message is simple: "We're not just sending dresses, we're sending hope." These dresses go as little Ambassadors to plant in the hearts of little girls that they are worthy. Although we concentrate on little girls, we distribute "britches for boys" as well. This is an ongoing project and we continue to receive dresses from all 50 states and many countries outside of the US. Feel free to join us by joining a group, starting your own, or sewing independently. For details visit www.littledressesforafrica.org
How can you help? Some sew, some pack, some donate material and/or shipping costs. There's something for everyone!
How do they get there? We send them directly by mail. Send them with mission teams. Ship them in 40ft containers and take them ourselves.
How can I know you received my dresses? Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope or email address on a note and we will let you know your dresses were received. Please allow 4-6 weeks for a response.
Does it cost to participate? We love receiving the dresses but remember our job is not completed until they are on the backs of these precious children. Your financial help with shipping is encouraged, but not required. But good, news: your donations, made out to Little Dresses for Africa, are tax-deductible.
Dresses and tax-deductible donations can be sent to:

Can other patterns be used besides the pillow case pattern? Any simple pattern can be used but we ask you to avoid buttons and zippers as they are difficult to repair in 3rd world countries. Any color and pattern is fine and cotton works best. Please use elastic instead of ribbon through the casings. Patterns available on our web site.
Before shipping to us: Help us get them to the kids quickly by grouping them by small, medium and large sizes. No need to mark them individually and please avoid straight pins.
Sorry, no used Clothing: Due to space in our facility and import restrictions regarding in many parts of Africa, we cannot accept used clothing. We encourage you to send them to other well deserving organizations that help the poor.
We are always looking for mission teams that would like to take dresses in their extra luggage to distribute to the children. If you know of a group going that can distribute these dresses, please have them contact us. We have PLENTY to share and we would love to partner with you this way. This is a vital part of our ministry. We are happy to mail them to teams, at no charge, to take with them in their bags for distribution.
Outside the USA: Check the web page for our other collection and distribution points outside of the USA.
Thanks again for your help and God bless your good works! "We're not just sending dresses, we're sending hope." Be sure to check read about other projects through these little dresses to support clean water, education and community.
Love,
