Life with the DIY Loop

About a year ago, I started DIY "looping" with my Omnipod tubeless pump and a Dexcom G6. DIY looping basically means hacking your insulin pump with a single-board computer, such a Raspberry Pi or Riley Link, to make it communicate with an existing continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to make basal adjustments accordingly.

Thank you for joining Glu, an online community of people touched by type 1 diabetes. We're glad you joined us!

Your experiences with this disease will make Glu a stronger, more vibrant community. But did you know you will also be contributing to research that will help improve care in type 1 diabetes? That's because Glu is a part of T1D Exchange, a nonprofit organization that seeks to drive faster, better research to advance type 1 outcomes.

1. Answer our Question of the Day.

Question of the Day is a short poll question we ask our community each day. When you answer and comment on our Question of the Day, you help researchers learn about important issues that matter in our world of type 1. Your answers and comments also encourage learning and discussion among the Glu community, which benefits everyone.

2. Complete your profile and participate in research.

Your profile becomes your ticket to participate in online surveys. Surveys are easy to take and can generally be completed in 30 minutes or less. Best of all, your participation is helping advance research that will lead to better outcomes in type 1 diabetes.

3. Introduce Yourself and Explore.
