Lisa Molomot is an award-winning Tucson-based filmmaker who produces and directs social justice documentaries across North America. Many of her recent works, Missing in Brooks County, The Cleaners, Safe Haven and Soledad, have focused on immigration and immigrant communities. She has also produced films about public education. Her hugely popular film School''s Out has been an integral part of the worldwide movement to provide outdoor education for young children, and her recent short film Teaching in Arizona is an inside look at the teaching crisis in that state.

JERRY GIVENS REST IN PEACE, REST IN POWER

New Day filmmakers Maggie Stogner and Rick Stack honor the passing of Jerry Givens, one of the central figures in their documentary: In the Executioner''s Shadow. Jerry was a former state executioner who transformed into a ceaseless advocate to abolish capital punishment. A warm and generous spirit, Jerry passed on April 13, 2020 battling Covid19.

MEET NEW DAY: RODNEY EVANS

Rodney Evans is a Brooklyn-based independent filmmaker who has been making narrative and documentary films for over twenty years. His films have received the Sundance Special Jury Prize in Drama (Brother to Brother) and starred the likes of LeRoy McClain (The Happy Sad). His New Day Films feature documentary, Vision Portraits, is an in-depth exploration of the creative paths of blind and low vision artists including: a photographer, a dancer/choreographer, a writer, and Rodney, himself, as a low vision filmmaker.
