Old Devil Moon rises again for our 4th Anniversary event! 

The celebration runs from Wednesday, October 7th to Sunday, October 18th. 

With a serious focus on doing so safely, we've determined that neither a pandemic, air quality disaster, nor murder hornets will stop us from tapping the best beer list in the mortal realm to celebrate our 4th anniversary in Mission-Bernal! The epic tap list includes lagers, rare sours, IPAs, and bourbon barrel aged stouts from the likes of Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (West Ashley!), Russian River, Jester King, Black Project, Gueuzerie Tilquin, Wildflower, Maui, Octopi (Bourbon Barrel S'Mores Stout!), Pelican, HaandBryggeriet (EarthKveik!), The Bruery, and more. 

We've brought OG ODM cook, Lucas, back to concoct a menu of favorite Louisiana-inspired ODM bites - think Gulf Shrimp and Fried Green Tomato Po Boys, Vegan Jambalaya, Falafel Muffuletta, Spicy Chicken sandos, the ODM Cheeseburger, our famous Hush Puppies with Whipped Honey Butter, and Zapp's Voodoo Chips. Our cocktails, liquor, and wine selections are also on point, as always. ODM has an occult vibe that has always made us a Fall-season destination, but we're decorating the space for Halloween to add a dash seasonal fun to the event, plus our back patio space is lovely! As we like to say here at ODM, "The Devil is in the detail, the magic is in the atmosphere."

Safety is our priority. We're allowing a very limited number of guests to sit at each of our four properly socially distanced patio tables, as well as a party inside by the fireplace, during each 2 hour block of time. This is a total number of guests that's even lower than what is legally allowed by the city of San Francisco. We leave 30 minutes between each pod's arrival to sanitize tables and chairs. All plates and utensils are single use and compostable (as always!). Masks will, of course, be required for all staff and for guests when not eating or drinking, per CA/SF rules and per common sense. 

You'd sell your soul to get a taste of these goodies, but you don't have to! Tickets are available via Eventbrite; they serve to reserve a table for you and your podmates for a 2 hour block. When it's time for you to check out, we'll remove that ticket price from your bill!

What we''re drinking 

ON DRAFT
We''re especially loving the HenHouse MK Ultra hazy IPA. We''ve been sipping on lots of Russian River Happy Hops IPA (we''ve got Pliny on, too, if you''re more of a Beast Mode drinker). The staff fave at the moment is the Alvarado Street Fest Bier lager -- seasonal, light, and frikkin delish. 

* Draft is for on site consumption, no growler fills yet but we''ll begin doing that soon after the Anniversary event. 

IN CANS/BOTTLES
The Oozlefinch Crazy Pants kettle sour w/ Gooseberry, Elderflower, Vanilla & Lactose (6.5%) is tropical AF and DELICIOUS! The label art also makes fun of anti-maskers, which is fun. 

Ghost Town''s Cataclysm is a West Coast Pale (5.5%) that really hits the spot if you love old time pale ales but enjoy slightly more fruity and exciting modern hop flavor. 

Alvarado Street''s Double Fun hazy double IPA (8%) is that super dope haze for daze and daze. We get a weekly Alvarado drop on Monday and it''s always fantastic.

There are dozens of other great options, including our fave cocktail at the moment, the lovely gin focused Saturn. It''s a tiki style tropical delight. Each of our bottled cocktails contains 3 chilled, diluted, ready-to-drink cocktails for just $20. Be careful, ha ;) 

The back patio is OPEN! 

We''ve officially reopened our back patio! In addition to the string lights and heaters, we''ve put speakers back there for tunes and mounted a large TV on the wall for watching games. We''re even doing a great menu of draft beer for the first time in 6 months! 

We''re as SERIOUS ABOUT SAFETY at ODM as we are about great beer -- we''ve adjusted the patio seating to allow for proper social distancing and a greatly reduced number of guests. Here''s a bit more about what we''re doing to protect our guests and ourselves.

We have two small tables for 1 to 2 people, one medium sized table good for up to 4, and one large table for your pod or fam of up to 6. The tables are placed for easy maintenance of proper social distancing. Staff greatly limits our interactions with customers by taking orders up front and bringing the goodies back to you. Beyond that, we just pop our heads out of the back door every 10 minutes or so to check on everyone. We insist on mask usage by guests. We sanitize tables and chairs when guests leave. And of course, staff wear masks at all time, wash hands frequently, and use plenty of hand sanitizer. We''re going above and beyond the guidelines and feel confident that ODM''s outdoor patio a very safe space to be!

We''re all thirsty for communal boozing & that sense of normalcy we get from chilling at our favorite spots. At ODM we provide that while keeping everyone safe. Hope to see you on the patio soon!

Draft beer is back just in time for Oktoberfest! 

WE TAPPED A BUNCH OF KEGS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 6 MONTHS!!!!
The initial list is great, check it out: 

1) Bruery - Ruekeller: Helles lager - 5.2% - this is a pilsner like light golden lager but with a little more body and malt character than your average light pils
2) Andechs - Festbier - 5.8% - a pale German lager made to fest beer strength 
3) Schlenkerla - Fastenbier - 5.9% - German smoked amber lager, less smokey than their original Marzen version, the Fastenbier is made with only 50% smoked malt
4) De La Senne - Taras Boulba - 4.5% - very sessionable Belgian blonde ale
5) HenHouse - MK Ultra IPA - 6.9% - super hazy IPA with very low bitterness and big tropical & dank aromas 
6) Two Metre Tall - Tasmanian Wild Ale - 4.9% - mixed fermentation golden sour ale made with all Tasmanian ingredients
7) Wildflower - Gold - 5% - a golden mixed fermentation sour from one of Australia''s top sour producers
8) Bruery - White Chocolate - 14.8% - bourbon barrel aged wheat ale made with cacao nibs and vanilla beans
9) South City - Dry Me a River - 6.9% - crisp dry citrusy apple cider

We''ve got kegs coming in from Sante Adairius Rustic Ales and others soon, so keep an eye out!

Watch the game on the patio! 

As soon as we opened the patio we started getting loads of folks asking if we''re going to show games. Well, we just mounted a TV on the wall of the outdoor patio, viewable from all seats, so we''ve got you covered! If you''re into NFL, we open at 10am on Sundays! On Saturday and Sunday, we''ve also got a few brunchy items including overnight oats, coffee (boozy or not), and mimosas.

BEER TO GO
We''re curating a fantastic, constantly rotating, and very well-priced selection of canned beer. You should absolutely check it out. Our weekly Alvarado Street drop often sells out in a few days. We''ve got a bunch of Sante Adairius IPAs landing this week, which we expect will go quickly. We''ve got a bunch of hits from black owned Crown & Hops brewery, which is now being brewed at Henhouse. We''re currently featuring a mixed 4 pack of Oktoberfest goodies. We''ve also got 375ml bottles of Jackie O''s epic yearly release of Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Apparition. The Black Project sours keep rolling in by the pint can. There''s so much more, go check it out! 

BOTTLED COCKTAILS
We''re not messing around when it comes to bottled cocktails, either. Each bottle contains 3 chilled, diluted, ready-to-drink cocktails for just $20. Be careful with these, ha! ;) At the moment we''ve got bottled La Louisianes, Hurricanes, Vieux Carr?, Purple Pineapple Daiquiris, Saturns, and two we created ourselves, the Dolores and the Bewitched. FYI, it''s required by law that you purchase a meal kit with bottled cocktails. You can see all our bottled cocktails here.

COCKTAIL BUNDLES
If you''re more into making your own cocktails at home, we have cocktail bundles. These include all the bottles and mixers you need to make a whole bunch of drinks. We''ve got bundles of everything you need to make Manhattans, Gin Martinis, Negronis, Boulevardiers, Palomas, classic Daiquiris, Margaritas, Mezcalitas, Vodka Gimlets, Bloody Marys, Gold Rushs, and Bees Knees.  We''re thirsty for interaction, too, but safety in the age of Covid-19 is our priority at Old Devil Moon! 

We're doing even more than what's required by the state of California and the city of San Francisco to keep everyone safe. Here's how we're going above and beyond to keep you, and us, safe when you visit ODM:

1. Masks are required to be worn by guests at all times when not eating and drinking. We encourage folks to wear their masks even when in the bathroom, as recent data shows most transmission occurs in enclosed and poorly ventilated spaces. 

2. Staff wear masks at all times.

3. Staff is CONSTANTLY washing their hands and we encourage you to do the same!

4. Upon arrival and prior to being seated, guests' initial orders are made from across the bar for a safely distanced interaction with staff than is provided by more traditional table service. After that, we check on guests every 10 minutes or so to get a thumbs up, or not. 

5. There are no communal menus given to guests. Menus are posted by the ordering station near the front entrance and once seated you can use the QR codes on top of each table to pop up a website that contains our up to date menu and beer list. 

6. All tables are properly distanced with seating arranged such that no customer is within 6 feet of other customers at other tables. 

7. The vast majority of available seating on our open air back patio. There are only 4 tables available on our patio, they are all properly socially distanced. 

8. Although the city of San Francisco currently allows up to 25% of a restaurant's capacity (that'd be 12 people in our case) to be seated indoors, we have only a single indoor seating area available for small pods. That seating area is the large space next to our fireplace. 

9. Old Devil Moon's building is large and open, has high ceilings, and has excellent air flow. That's in part thanks to the hood in our kitchen which sucks air at a prodigious rate and keeps it circulating throughout the entire space. We keep the front and rear doors open to encourage air flow. We're confident it's as safe an indoor space as you'll find, but for our safety, and yours, we're still limiting indoor seating to less than we're permitted by law. 

10. All plates and utensils are single use compostable items. 

11. All glassware is fully sanitized with chemical sanitizer in our commercial dishwasher after every use. 

12. Nothing is available in communal areas, such as napkins, utensils, water, etc. Guests must request them from the staff. Even the Crystal hot sauce is now only available in packets (if you miss ODM's house made hot sauce, bottles are available for purchase to go!).

13. We clean and sanitize all tables and chairs according to CDC guidelines as soon as a pod finishes up their food and drink and departs.  

14. Checking out is a nearly touchless process thanks to our new Square POS system with chip and NFC card reader.  

15. Sanitizer is available on the bar at the checkout location for guests and staff. 

16. Ordering online for pick up is super safe, too, don't forget we have lots of beer, cocktails, and food available in our online store.
