While we''ve all had to innovate to adjust to the challenges of COVID-19, some of our amazing Business Brains participants in Uganda have also adapted their businesses to meet new community needs.

After receiving a grant to support her business, Miremba*, who runs a business making reusable pads, pivoted and began making masks instead! She was able to reinvest her profits and make over 4,000 masks that they were able to sell in their community. She's been able to protect her community's health, support her family, and even hire some help from other women - talk about rising to meet a challenge!

We have a goodbye to announce, some happy reflections to share and exciting new plans afoot . 

Sarah Ireland, our fearless leader and Do It In A Dress champion has resigned from her role as CEO of One Girl! We're so sad to farewell Sarah, but rather than lament her departure, we've instead published a blog celebrating everything she achieved during her time with us!
 

Sarah's passionate advocacy for the transformative power of education drove One Girl into brave new territory and has prepared us for a future full of promise!

• It''s hard to say no to coffee and cake! Why not host a morning tea at school or work (or over zoom!), with donations going towards your fundraising page: https://www.onegirl.org.au/fundraisers/samuelhernandez.
   
• Bake some goodies and deliver them to neighbours or nearby friends, with a nice note and an explanation about why you''re Doing It In A Dress. Include a link to your fundraising page to encourage people to make a donation!
   
• Challenge yourself to get active in your school dress. Set yourself a walking or running target and get out there in your dress!
   
• Organise a dinner party (in-person or virtual) in support of Do It In A Dress! Cook a yummy meal, enjoy each other''s company and spend some time reflecting on why girls'' education is so important to you.

The more you spread the word about what you're doing, the more people will want to help or get involved. The most amazing thing I've learned about fundraising is that people WANT to support causes that matter, and donating to you allows them to give back too!
 

You're not on your own, we have a lot of really great resources available to help you kick butt and get your message out there. They come in all shapes and sizes for Facebook, Instagram, emails - wherever!

So log in to your fundraising dashboard on the website and check all your sharing options. We've even put together a few email templates that you can use to send to people in your address book!
 

If you tag @onegirlorg or use the hashtag #doitinadress when you're posting on social media using these resources, or just your own photos, we may even give you a shoutout and share your fundraising page on our Instagram or Facebook!

I want you to meet some of the One Girl scholars living in Sierra Leone - because of support from people just like YOU, they're now back in school and are dreaming BIG!

There are so many things that prevent girls from accessing quality education and in many low-income countries, girls face unique challenges simply because they were born a girl. 

That's why One Girl is providing education scholarships - in and out of the classroom! We are championing gender equality by supporting and inspiring female role models to show girls if they can see it, they can be it!

$40 is enough to supply a girl with five reusable sanitary pad kits which last for three years!

$100 is enough for a girl to receive vocational and life-skills training for six months.

$300 is enough to send a girl to school for a whole year!
