Rich in history and deeply rooted in the community, the original Osthoff Hotel opened its doors in 1886, by owners and German immigrants, Otto and Paulina Osthoff. Offering a summer respite, crowds arrived by steam train from St. Louis, Chicago and Milwaukee to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Elkhart Lake. Fast forward to May 1, 1995, as The Osthoff Resort opens for business on the exact location as its predecessor, The Osthoff Hotel.
