So they left. An entire village emptied as residents fled to neighboring Guinea in the face of the Liberian civil war. For eight years the village sat deserted while the community that had occupied it lived as refugees of war.  

But when peace returned, so did people. Slowly. Darius' father was the first. Even in the midst of lingering tension and unrest, he began to rebuild -- driven by the admonition of his mother to never desert his village or forget his people.

That's the number of jobs we've created and sustained in last 12 months-and our partner, APAC (Association for People in Community), supports nearly 1,000 farmers and 6,000 jobs in rural Nicaragua.

APAC faced an uncertain future due to the pandemic and a shortage in funding. In the face of this challenge, our partners stepped up with essential loans to support these livelihoods amidst Covid-19. 

Even more, the farmers themselves have begun a campaign titled A Pound of Gold For My Brother, donating their own earnings to support the work of APAC and our partnership. 

Those who we served are now serving their neighbors. We want to help more partners like APAC. And you can make that happen.

• Vladimir, a member of our Local Community Institution REPP in Port-au-Prince has spent his time designing face masks to help fight the spread of COVID-19 in Haiti. 
• Local partner CCE in El Salvador held a virtual seminar entitled "Business Adaptability in Times of Crisis" to equip the entrepreneurs in their community to navigate change and uncertainty. 
• In Trinidad and Tobago, our Local Community Institution NCB launched their e-learning platform to continue providing business training and support for members of our network.

The Partners Worldwide network is composed of 70 percent women-including Sabina.
 
Sabina is a woman entrepreneur and activist. But at the age of 27, she became a widow-and found herself homeless with four children to care for and a challenging road ahead of her.

Sabina stepped up in the face of these obstacles. She started a business and formed RS Nepal, a local partner in India. RS Nepal advocates for single women and children through social, personal, and economic empowerment.

Thanks to her drive and your support, Sabina created her pathway out of poverty. And now, she's helping other women create theirs.

This is what our Africa team did by hosting a webinar series titled Building a Resilient Business. 

In the face of Covid-19, they started connecting-virtually-more than 200 entrepreneurs and business owners to the mentoring, training, and resources they need to weather this pandemic and keep growing their businesses.
