It's Time to Upload Your Flat, 180°, & 360° Videos

Welcome to SPIN Studio Lite! Now that you have an account, it’s time to get started using the platform. First things first: upload any flat, 180°, or 360° video files and get them ready for showtime on any mobile device, tablet, laptop, or Oculus headset.

Simply upload your files by dragging and dropping them into SPIN Studio. The upload process should take minutes no matter the file size thanks to the power of the cloud. Check out this easy how to video: https://bit.ly/2MZbe7T

Next, it’s time to get organized using SPIN Studio’s streamlined content management system with nested folders, easy labeling, stacks, and search. We find it is best to organize your content by project to ensure you can always find what you need. 

Once your assets are uploaded and organized in SPIN Studio, the fun can begin! Your options include Casting, Pairing, creating SPIN Stories, and using SPIN Guide, just to name a few. What’s Casting, you ask? Well, it’s our term for sharing videos to headsets with a nine-digit share key from SPIN Studio that you enter into the SPIN Play app on your oculus device. We hope you’ve had a chance to upload content and poke around SPIN Studio Lite. At this point, you may be wondering, “What good is uploading content if you don't know what to do with it afterward?” If so, here’s a little how-to on ways to view your content across devices, including mobile, tablets, laptops, Oculus headsets, and even TV.

In SPIN Studio, there are two ways to view content on headsets: casting and pairing.

Casting is excellent if you want to quickly review content. All you need is the nine digit share key from your SPIN Story and the SPIN Play App installed on your headset. Need to watch several stories more than once on the same headsets? Then pairing headsets to SPINs is the way to go. This will streamline the process for multiple viewings and allow for easy device management. Check out this how-to guide: https://bit.ly/2YQ3Eid

No content? No problem! Practice casting with some of the XR training experiences developed by our customers using SPIN Studio. Just enter these share keys below into your SPIN Play App on your Oculus headset or use the SPINXR link to view on any device.

Seabourn Cruise Line

Seabourn Cruise was drawn to XR to solve the problem of limited access to its ships while at sea for training new waitstaff. Now before stepping on board, new servers can walk through virtual versions of the dining rooms and learn the layouts and table numbers. Training managers can also administer interactive quizzes within the experience to ensure the recruits are ready for the real thing once onboard. Take a look!

Our Quizzing Feature Got An A+ Upgrade — Check it out!

Forget pen and paper. You can now easily build unlimited quizzing modules directly in SPIN Studio using our brand new quizzing! With a click of a button, your quizzes can be deployed across any device, including iPads, iPhones, Oculus headsets, and laptops/desktops with Google Chrome. 

User responses to all quizzes—which can be both single-response or multiple-choice, by the way—are tracked and directly synced to the analytics tab to show overall and individual performance. Login to SPIN Studio and starting creating your first module. 

What’s possible with our new quizzing widget:

• Create questions and answer choices from your computer
• Track each user’s performance with unique user I.D.s for every assessment
• View real-time results as users submit their quizzes
• Auto-store quiz responses on SPIN Studio

Our Ingenic Creator (think Google’s Tilt Brush but for XR) unlocks a new realm of possibilities by enabling you to easily create interactive 180° and 360° experiences in VR. Now that you’re all set up, it’s time to create your XR video experience using SPIN Studio’s professional-grade features and tools: 

FX Editor: Deliver a pixel-perfect XR video experience by using our FX Editor tools for color correction, lens alignment, clip trimming, in/out points, and end-of-scene interactions. 

Spatial Elements: Link together several videos to create branching narratives using interactive hyperports or spatial elements like images, buttons, or text that transport your viewer to the desired scene.

Information overlay: Use the Text Editor function to add additional information in the form of pop-ups, instructional details, tips, facts, or whatever your experience needs. Even better, add flat videos to your experience that play when selected or gazed upon to add additional context or instruction to the scene.

Finally, when you’re ready to show your interactive videos to the world, remember you and your viewers aren’t limited to headsets. With SPINXR, your viewers can now watch and interact with the same content on their mobile devices and laptops. What does this mean for you? On March 2nd, your SPIN Studio account will no longer be accessible, and all of the data in your account will be deleted. Until then, you can access your video files and follow these instructions to download any of your assets.
