Dear Lucas, We know this has been a difficult year and hope you and your family are remaining safe and healthy. While the COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us, we remain committed to our mission of being the national consumer voice for electric vehicles (EVs). We get more EVs on the road by: - introducing Americans to EVs at events,
- educating consumers and dealers through our PlugStar program, and
- advocating for pro-EV policies and incentives.
We have made much progress, but the oil and gas industry has not stopped attacking us. Please help us fight back with your gift! We recently got a major package of pro-EV legislation passed in the U.S. House of Representatives, a major accomplishment and a testament to the power of EV drivers. Due to the larger political forces at play, though, the bill is unlikely to pass the Senate this year. Plug In America is the voice of the EV driver, advocating on your behalf. Your support will help us educate the next Congress on the need to pass this vital legislation. The pandemic has affected our revenue sources. To help us adapt and thrive, our goal is to raise $40,000 before National Drive Electric Week. Some of our supporters have been unable to fund us at the same levels as previously, forcing us to make difficult decisions. A generous individual has given us a head start toward meeting our $40,000 goal, but we need your support to ensure that our programs will continue educating and advocating for EVs. In April, we had to cancel more than 150 in-person events during Drive Electric Earth Day due to the pandemic, but we quickly moved the event online, holding a virtual event that drew more than 16,000 viewers. This September, National Drive Electric Week will include online events for the first time. We appreciate your support as we work hard to adapt to the situation we all face. Please give generously and monitor our progress toward meeting the $40,000 goal. To sustain our programs over time, please make a recurring gift of $11/month! Thank you for your continued support of clean transportation and Plug In America. Sincerely, |
