The stars won't align anytime soon. The best time to start podcasting is always right here, right now.
Stop Procrastinating, Start Podcasting
Don't sit around waiting for the stars to align. The best time to start podcasting is always now.
There’s no getting around it. It takes a lot of motivation to take an idea and turn it into something tangible in the real world. So we often let our sparks of creativity pass us by.
Great podcast ideas are a dime a dozen. The harsh reality is that without execution, they’re worthless. People can’t tune in and listen to an idea.
But with podcasts becoming so popular in recent years, there’s no shortage of people who think they’re just an iPhone recording away from creating the next Serial. And they generally love to tell anyone who’ll listen. They talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.

A) MAKING MORE MONEY. Create an exclusive subscription only podcast for paid-up members using a service like Patreon or PayPal.
B) KEEPING TRADE SECRETS... SECRET! If you''re planning on using podcasting for internal comms, make sure your communications stay internal by blocking out the general public.

Take advantage of new tools to build your podcast's discoverability!
With business podcasts, companies seem to forget they need to create something people actually want to listen to.
Nobody wants to hear a 10-episode series about your latest product feature or service. And nobody in their right mind is going to tune in weekly to hear half-baked interviews. Life is too short.
Producing an engaging show that delivers a specific result to a specific group of people is the key to converting listeners into customers.
We've created a simple 3 step process that will help you plan and start a business podcast that converts.

Breathe new life into your content and puts it into the hands of people who otherwise wouldn't have found you.
Planning, recording, and publishing podcast episodes can take a lot of time. That's why, if you publish your latest episode and then market it by sharing a link on social media, you're making a big mistake.
Diversifying how you share your content with the world can do wonders for your show - whether your objective is to get more listeners, strengthen your brand, or grow your business.
Sharing your episodes in multiple ways will expand your audience reach. And one thing is for sure, it'll be hard to achieve your goals with your podcast if no one knows it exists.
Leverage the time and effort you put into creating your show by repurposing it, ultimately growing your audience and saving you time.

Daniele Bolelli discusses his podcasting career, the fundamentals of storytelling, and how Luminary gives him more creative flexibility.
Daniele Bolelli defies stereotypes. He is an author, university professor, professional martial artist, and podcaster. He hosts two shows, The Drunken Taoist and History on Fire, the latter of which was nominated as one of iTunes Best of 2015.
Daniele's introduction to the world of podcasting happened quite fortuitously. In 2013 he had written a book called Create Your Own Religion, and his publisher booked him on a few podcasts to help promote it. Those bookings included The Joe Rogan Experience and The Adam Carolla Show - two of the biggest podcasts in existence. And things took off from there.
After an initial run of guest interviews, Daniele launched his own podcast. He got started with The Drunken Taoist in 2013 and a couple of years later launched History on Fire, which is now a part of the Luminary podcast network. One of Daniele's many passions is bringing history to life through brilliant audio storytelling - and he is a true master of that craft.
In this interview, James Deeney speaks with Daniele about the fundamentals of storytelling and how being on Luminary allows him to devote more time to producing fantastic narrative audio. They discuss:
02:30 - The childhood origins of Daniele's passion for history
03:30 - Daniele's academic background and transition to teaching
04:30 - Appearing on JRE and The Adam Carolla Show
07:20 - The advantages of podcasting over writing
08:40 - Starting The Drunken Taoist podcast
10:00 - The origins of History on Fire (HoF)
11:45 - Daniele's process for researching and planning HoF episodes
15:40 - Why episodes of HoF aren't fully scripted
17:20 - Working with Savannah Em on recording, editing, and artwork
19:47 - Advice for podcasters on how to tell better stories
22:00 - Problems with the way history is commonly taught in school
25:50 - Moving HoF to the Luminary podcast network
35:35 - The importance of engaging and replying to listeners online

Interviewing is a skill. And it takes practice to master.
Done right, podcast interviews sound easy. Conversation flows effortlessly from one topic to the next and both the host and guest sound like they're enjoying themselves. But that doesn't happen by magic. Interviewing is a skill. And it takes practice to master.
It's about genuine interest, digging deeper, extracting stories, defining the unclear, avoiding awkwardness, and being conscious of all that at the same time.

Amy helps podcasters grow their audience by working with them to create more content in less time.
Amy Woods is founder of Content10x, which offers content repurposing services for podcasters and businesses. She also hosts The Content10x Podcast which teaches listeners how to create more content in less time and reach a bigger audience.
Every podcaster wants more listeners. And repurposing is about squeezing more value from each episode you publish. Being on all the major podcast directories is a great starting point. But what about social media? Search engines? YouTube? Medium?
To maximize the reach of your podcast, it ideally needs to have a presence wherever people spend time online. And Amy is one of the leading experts on how to achieve that as efficiently as possible.
In this interview, James Deeney speaks with Amy about some of the most effective techniques for repurposing your podcast and growing your audience. They discuss:
01:50 - Amy's career background before Content10x
06:00 - Different types of content repurposing
09:15 - How to reach non-podcast listeners
13:00 - Best ways to promote a podcast on LinkedIn
20:30 - How to spark discussion with listeners on social media
24:00 - Creating SlideShare presentations from a podcast
27:00 - How to get your podcast episodes ranked on Google
30:50 - Become more efficient at repurposing through planning
32:20 - Doing keyword research to create better episodes
36:00 - How to get more listeners through YouTube
39:50 - YouTube vs Spotify as a podcast listening destination
42:15 - How to create better YouTube podcast thumbnails

Monetise Your Shows with Premium Podcast Content
Premium podcast content isn''t available in your normal feed, listeners have to pay to access it.
Creating premium podcast content is a proven and effective way to monetize your show. The logic is straightforward. Produce more great content your listeners would love to hear, but don't give it away for free.
Most of the highest earning podcasts on Patreon have used this model to make their show financially successful. For example, the political comedy podcast Chapo Trap House has more than 30,000 Patreon donors and brings in $144,000 every month.
They incentivise donations by publishing two new episodes each week, a free one and another only available to those who give $5 per month. Simple.
Clearly this approach works. So in this article we'll explore what premium content is, the different forms it can take, pricing, and how to encourage donations. In addition, we'll also outline how you can use Podcast.co to deliver premium content.
