Summer may be winding down, but the fun continues in Brooklyn's Prospect Park this fall. Tomorrow, Prospect Park Alliance + BRIC unveil a new public art installation at the Bandshell, the first in its history. On Sunday, enjoy a celebration of Little Caribbean at the Lefferts Historic House yard. Enjoy virtual and in-person park tours, musical performances and the fourth season of Moliere in the Park. And don't miss the last chance for roller skating, boating + biking for the season. Details on our ice skating season are coming soon!

Public Art: Inspired By “What Is Left," Brooklyn Hi-Art! Machine

Prospect Park Bandshell
BRIC and Prospect Park Alliance, in partnership with NYC Parks, present Inspired By “What Is Left,” a public art installation by the collaborative duo Brooklyn Hi-Art! Machine. The text-based installation quotes the late poet Lucille Clifton and offers the Brooklyn community a message of resilience and perseverance. It is the first major public art project in Prospect Park since the pandemic, and one of the first installations at the Bandshell in its history.
Pop-Up Lefferts: Little Caribbean Celebration

Join us for the last Pop-Up Lefferts of the season, as Prospect Park Alliance welcomes local partner caribBEING to celebrate the third anniversary of Flatbush's Little Caribbean, the diverse Caribbean community in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and beyond. Featuring musical performances, family-friendly games and free DIY activity kits you can take home. Also enjoy packaged refreshments from Black-owned local businesses. Pop-Up Lefferts is presented through support of NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

Join Turnstile Tours and Prospect Park Alliance as part of OHNY Weekend for a virtual exploration of Prospect Park’s waterways. We will look closely at the ingenious drainage system and chain of manmade streams and ponds that terminate in Brooklyn’s largest lake, follow the park’s scenic watercourse, and go inside one of the most unique features of the park: the 1869 Wellhouse, the park’s last remaining building by park designer Calvert Vaux, which once housed the machinery that fueled the watercourse and was recently restored by the Prospect Park Alliance and converted into the first composting restrooms in a NYC park.

Enjoy this free and timely performance of this famed Moliere play, starring Tony Award-Winner Tonya Pinkins in a translation by Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Wilbur. When the obsessive bourgeois Arnolphe realizes that his protégé and pupil, 17 year-old Agnès, actually has a mind of her own, he is flabbergasted. Intent on saving face and maintaining control, he doubles down on his decision to marry her, despite the truth staring him in the face. Presented by Moliere in the Park and French Institute Alliance Française, in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance and Theatre for a New Audience.
