Hi there,
We are excited to share some exciting news: Rancher has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by SUSE, the largest independent open source software company.
I have gotten to know the SUSE leadership team incredibly well over the last few months, and I could not imagine a more ideal company for Rancher to be joining than SUSE. Like Rancher, SUSE is 100% open source, and committed to our shared goal of transforming the world with open source technology. With SUSE's incredible history of innovation and leadership in Linux, cloud computing, storage, and computing platforms, I am convinced that we are in an ideal position to continue building the next generation of open computing platforms.
This is an incredible moment as we are creating the world's largest independent organization exclusively dedicated to powering digital transformation with open source and cloud native solutions. We share the same goal as SUSE: we want you to be happy and satisfied.
Maintaining a strong relationship with you and surpassing your expectations remains our key priority. Following regulatory approvals and the acquisition's closing:
- Rancher's leadership team will be taking strategic roles throughout SUSE and continuing to drive innovation that pushes the industry toward running Kubernetes anywhere and on any infrastructure.
- Count on us to best leverage the innovation power of SUSE and Rancher to increase the speed at which we evolve your existing products.
- Rancher's 100% open source solutions will be at the heart of how we deliver container management and enable organizations to accelerate their cloud native journey.
- SUSE and Rancher's developers will collaborate on innovative open source solutions to accelerate the pace of innovation and bring better choice to the market.
We anticipate completing the transaction by the end of October 2020. Until closing, our companies must continue to operate separately and your products, delivery, customer service and your point of contact will not change because of the proposed acquisition. We have a dedicated team of leaders planning for the integration with SUSE after closing. We will continue to share relevant information and updates over the upcoming months about how we are proceeding with the proposed acquisition.
In addition to the release, please see insight on what this means for the industry from SUSE CEO Melissa Di Donato, here, and Rancher CEO Sheng Liang, here. For any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me or your account executive. Thank you for entrusting Rancher with your business.
Best Regards,
Shannon Williams
