There's no better way to welcome the days leading up to Christmas than to reflect upon the person of Jesus. You see, the people of Israel were waiting for a king. But when Jesus came, he wasn't like other kings. He was born in a manger. He lived in poverty. From the outside, his life appeared merely humble, a poor man.

But the truth is, Jesus was a true king. The richest of them all. He came so that we may have life, the life we were made for (John 10:10)! We simply cannot remain passive when it comes to acknowledging who he is. This holiday season, we must shout it from the rooftops that Jesus is King and Savior, that he came to die so that we may live...that He is Love's answer to our hope.

The gift God presents to humanity, and the gift we celebrate every Christmas, is the gift of himself. And we owe him everything for that gift. So this Advent, let us be mindful of that gift, and in turn, give gratitude to Jesus for all he has done for us.

Throughout the next couple of weeks, I really encourage you to read through the birth of Jesus from Luke, Chapter 2 with your loved ones, and to meditate on what a gift it is that God came down to earth as man so that he might save us all.

And let's follow his example, too. Don't get caught in the trap of merely sharing presents or food. Be sure to share yourself!

In our Advent note a couple of days ago, I wrote about how the gift we celebrate every Christmas is the gift of God himself. God so loved, that He gave. His generosity is limitless. God showed us that generosity is at the heart of the Christian life. And what better time to reflect on the generosity of God than during Advent, the season in which we are waiting in joyful anticipation for the greatest gift of all.

So today, I am excited to share how the generosity of our Ambassadors of Hope have touched millions this year.

In 2019, thanks to your Christian generosity, you:

• Helped more than 60,000 people hear the authentic Gospel message and experience a new closeness to God through our live events
• Made it possible for our Real Life Minutes to bring daily encouragement to millions
• Provided a native doctor to a remote village in Haiti - the only doctor for the entire region - to give critical medical care to thousands, for the second year in a row
• Helped keep kids in school and provided another 100,000 meals around the world to children who would otherwise go hungry or not be able to attend school at all

Every act of generosity counts. We have a few new and exciting things around the corner in 2020, and it's because of your prayers, your support, and your gifts that we will be able to help even more live the life they were made for.

This year has been such an exciting year for Chris Stefanick and Real Life Catholic. And as we wrap up 2019, there is one announcement that we couldn't let go unnoticed.

We want to give a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our fearless leader for being awarded the Benemerenti Medal from Pope Francis. The award recognizes Chris for outstanding service to the Holy See through national evangelization efforts, his work forming the character and leadership skills of Catholic men, and for providing outstanding counsel for many years to various bishops throughout the country.

We are so proud of Chris and all that he does to spread the Gospel!

In just two short weeks we will be ushering in a new decade, and we couldn't be more thrilled for all that is to come in 2020. Thank you, Chris, for your passion to help others live the life they were made for. Our prayer is that the new decade brings the hope of Jesus to even more people around the world.
