Don''t miss this virtual concert series featuring two-time Tony Award winner Patti Lupone, Tony Award winner Laura Benanti, and critically acclaimed actress and singer Vanessa Williams streamed live from New York''s Shubert Virtual Studios.

Each show will feature a mix of Broadway showtunes, pop songs, and personal stories from the life of each headliner. You can even submit questions in advance for each artist to answer during the show.

Streaming events allow music and theatre lovers the opportunity to enjoy well produced, high quality events conveniently and safely. Only one stream needs to be purchased per household and the performance is accessible for 72 hours following the livestream concert. You can have a fabulous date night and stay in at the same time!

Tickets are $75 for the series, $30 for individual concerts and are on sale now by phone or online. Call the RiverCenter box office Monday-Friday between the hours of 10AM-5:30PM or visit rivercenter.org.

STEEPLECHASE AT CALLAWAY GARDENS RAFFLE TICKETS

Steeplechase at Callaway Gardens is only a few weeks away! This year''s Steeplechase is being held on Saturday, November 7. One of the Chattahoochee Valley''s most popular events, Steeplechase supports arts groups across the region.

Here''s RiverCenter Executive Director Norman Easterbrook with Steeplechase mascot Horace the Horse, reminding you that raffle tickets ($100 each) for a $5,000 travel voucher from Columbus Travel for the trip of your choice can be purchased through RiverCenter. DANCE IN THE TIME OF COVID

Earlier this week, RiverCenter hosted dance auditions for a special dance project for Brenau senior Gracie Metcalf. Working with RiverCenter staff and administration, Metcalf worked out a plan to conduct safe, socially-distanced auditions that complied with RiverCenter safety protocols.

Metcalf''s piece, "Retrouvailles," will feature three dancers in masks performing, not on stage, but in the audience. "I wanted to create a site-specific dance that investigates the impact of isolation on the performing arts community," said Metcalf. The dance presents a theme of rediscovery and reunion, utilizing the empty seats of the theatre to bring focus to the current isolation of performing spaces that are shut down during the COVID pandemic. "As artists, we have had to innovate to continue to produce artwork," said Metcalf.

Following the selection of the dancers, Metcalf will rehearse at a separate rehearsal facility over the course of the semester, returning to RiverCenter for dress rehearsals in the space and concluding with a videotaping of the final performance.

Metcalf is a Columbus native and graduate of Hamilton High School. She will complete her Bachelors Degree with a double major in Dance and Psychology this year and plans to pursue a career in dance/movement therapy.

WOMEN OF BROADWAY

LAURA BENANTI NOVEMBER 14

Tony Award winner LAURA BENANTI presents a live, streaming concert on Saturday, November 14 at 8 PM (ET). Benanti's performance is the second in the three-concert series Live from The West Side: Women of Broadway that is being presented in conjunction with Broadway's Shubert Organization, Dallas Summer Musicals and Entertainment Benefits Group, and shared by more than 20 nonprofit arts presenters across the country. The series concludes on December 5 with Vanessa Williams.

Transmitted live in HD with professional sound mixing, the concert will feature a mix of Broadway showtunes, pop songs, and personal stories from Benanti's life and career. Performances will take place at The Shubert Virtual Studios on Manhattan's West Side. At-home audience members will be invited to email in questions to be answered during the livestream.

Tickets are $30 (only 1 per household is needed) by calling the RiverCenter box office at 706-256-3612, by email at boxoffice@rivercenter.org, or online at rivercenter.org. Tickets include access to each livestream performance, plus an additional 72 hours of on-demand viewing of the video recording of the performance, available beginning one hour after the live broadcast ends. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the RiverCenter Recovery Fund.

Grammy-nominated songwriter and piano sensation Jim Brickman will be taking the nation by storm this holiday season with the "Comfort & Joy at Home 2020" Virtual Tour. The live virtual performance will stream for the RiverCenter audience on Friday, December 11 at 8:00 PM ET. Fans can enjoy this unique, family-friendly virtual concert experience from the comfort of their homes and a portion of each ticket purchased to this live streaming event will benefit RiverCenter. Prices start at $40 for the stream only and special packages that include an interactive Zoom Room, Meet & Greet and Christmas Gifts delivered to your door are available for $75 and $125. DANCE IN THE TIME OF COVID: FOLLOW UP

Last month, Brenau senior Gracie Metcalf worked with RiverCenter staff and administration to conduct safe, socially-distanced auditions for her dance project, "Retrouvailles." She selected four dancers for her piece which presents a theme of rediscovery and reunion, utilizing the empty seats of the theater to bring focus to the current isolation of performing spaces that are shut down during the COVID pandemic.

After weeks of rehearsals, Metcalf and her dancers conducted dress rehearsals in Bill Heard Auditorium last week and videotaped the final performance to complete the project.

Metcalf is a Columbus native and graduate of Harris County High School. She will complete her Bachelors Degree with a double major in Dance and Psychology this year and plans to pursue a career in dance/movement therapy. The dancers are, from left, Silvia Beltran, Aria Mabry, Metcalf, Jenna Kinsaul, Joshua Walters.
